  8. The Park is alongside the Pacific Ocean in the northwestern part of the state. An Information Center in the north is at Crescent City (Highway 101); another Center is in the south at Orick, about forty miles north of Eureka; and if entering from the east, take Highway 199 to Hiouchi. Airport: Arcata-Eureka at McKinleyville. Greyhound bus: Crescent City, Arcata. Shuttle bus service from Orick to Tall Trees Grove Trail June to September.

  11. Open year round. Peak visitor month is July. Some campgrounds are closed during Winter. Climate: January, 21 to 53 degrees; July, 51 degrees F - 64 degrees F. Precipitation: January, 12; July, 0.3.

  14. Coastal redwood forests with virgin groves of ancient trees, including the world's tallest, thrive in the foggy and temperate climate. The Park includes forty miles of scenic Pacific coastline.

  20. The tallest known tree in the world grows in Tall Trees Grove. Hiking trails abound on the shore and through the redwood forests. Camping reservations through MISTIX 1-800-365-2267. Lodging is available in surrounding communities of Crescent City, Eureka, Klamath Falls, and Orick.
