  13. Cross Words is a crossword puzzle on the computer!  There are
  14. several hundred cross word puzzles available, but this pack comes
  15. with 50.  To order more, write:

  21. Quick Start...
  22.  
  23. After installing the software on your computer, select the game that
  24. you want to play by double clicking.
  25.  
  26. After the music stops, a book will be displayed.  Use the left mouse
  27. button to select the cell in which you wish to put a letter.  Use
  28. the right mouse button to choose between moving up and down, or
  29. right and left.

  31. Selecting a Different Puzzle...
  32.  
  33. If you don't like this puzzle, or you've solved it, try the next
  34. puzzle.  To display the next puzzle, select File from the main
  35. menu.  The Next Page item will show you the next puzzle in line. If
  36. you want a list of all of the puzzles, select Index.

  38. Selecting a Different Puzzle Book...
  39.  
  40. You may purchase other puzzle books.  If you have more than one
  41. puzzle book installed on your system, select File from the main
  42. menu.  Choose Open Puzzle Book from the menu.  A list of the
  43. available options will follow.

  45. How do I know if I'm right?
  46.  
  47. To see if you are right on a particular word, select Solve from the
  48. main menu.  The Show Correct Words option will highlight any
  49. letters that are wrong.  If you still can't get the solution, the
  50. Peek at solution will fill in the word for you.

  52. Can I play again?

  54. Once you've played the puzzle, you can erase your previous answers
  55. using the Erase Page option under File.

  69. The exciting word game in which you can actually save someone's
  70. life!

  72. A few notes to make your game more enjoyable:
  73.  
  74. (1)  Be sure to look at the Options > Preferences menu.  You can
  75. select the type of sound which the victim emits in case you make 7
  76. wrong letter guesses and the victim is hanged.  You can also select
  77. how much of the picture of the hanging will be visible.  If you
  78. stop playing, then the changes you make will still be in effect the
  79. next time you start up the game.

  81. (2)  When you first play the game, you get to guess words of 5, 6,
  82. 7, and 8 letters, randomly arranged.  You can use the Options >
  83. Word Length menu to have all words be the same length.  If you like
  84. them to be mixed, choose Random.

  86. (3)  If you have any questions while playing, just press the F1 key
  87. to get Help.

  89. (4)  If you see a word which is new to you, get out your dictionary
  90. and look up its meaning.  You might as well learn something while
  91. you are having fun

  100. The exciting puzzle that will drive you crazy!

  102. A few notes to make your Mix-Up! experience less mixed-up:
  103.  
  104. (1)  If your computer doesn't have a 'mouse' pointing device, that's
  105. okay, you can still play Mix-Up!  Just use your keyboard's arrow
  106. keys to move the puzzle's blank space up, down, left, or right,
  107. until you have solved the puzzle.

  109. (2)  If your computer DOES have a 'mouse' pointing device, that's
  110. okay too!  Anyone can play Mix-Up!, no matter where they stand on
  111. the mouse issue.  With a mouse, just point at the numbered square
  112. you want to move into the blank space, click the left button, and
  113. that square will move.

  115. (3)  If you have any questions while playing, just press the F1 key
  116. to get Help.

  118. (4)  Even if you don't have questions, look at the Help information
  119. anyway, to learn about the history of this kind of puzzle.
