  2. label the columns or groups. The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry
  3. has now decided that the columns should be labelled from one to eighteen, and this is
  4. what we shall do, but you could alter the main display of the Interactive Periodic Table
  5. to show the old IUPAC or the American CAS (Chemical Abstracts Service) designations if you wanted.
