The local 'Landlord's' bitter by Timothy Taylors, is [ITAL]outstanding [EITAL]with a shelf-full of CAMRA trophies. Toffs is sweaty and sleazy. At ú1.50, both are popular on student nights nevertheless. Langwith snack bar specialises in [ITAL]high quality[EITAL] veggie stuff. All eateries open early, but after 7.30-ish in the evening students are dependent on toasties and Mars Bars - or even Mars Bar toasties. The 2 pubs in Heslington Village, the Charles XII and the Deramore Arms, provide a daytime alternative to dining halls, particularly on Sundays. [ITAL]The city centre is a haven for the hungry with every conceivable type of food at every conceivable price.
