[PARA]But not all University accommodation is on campus - some [PARA]students are housed in town in flats and houses rented to [PARA]students on a private basis. The campus accommodation is in [PARA]halls, houses and flats in groups of between 5 and 12 rooms: [PARA]some are [ITAL]very plush [EITAL]and new. 105 flats cater for families. 8% of[PARA]rooms are shared and some ground floor groups of flats are [PARA]men only. Between 6 and 12 people share kitchens, but there's [PARA]always the eateries on campus. There are some segregated [PARA]rooms for female Muslims.[PARA][BOLD]Car parking:[EBOLD] Permit needed [ITAL]and a car which can nip into small [PARA]spaces quickly. Prices weren't much cheaper than outer [PARA]London and were more scarce. Things have become easier [EITAL](a [PARA]number of agencies now deal with students) [ITAL]although prices [PARA]aren't any cheaper. The most hopeful spots for bedsits and [PARA]shared houses are London Rd (near station and the best pubs), [PARA]Lewes Rd/Elm Grove (good for Falmer), Seven Dials (near [PARA]another station and the town centre) and Kempton (just cos it's [PARA]nice). Hove is a bit far and Moulsecoomb is a bit rough.[EITAL][PARA][PARA][BOLD]Housing help:[EBOLD] The University lends a particular hand allotting [PARA]students into the places they manage but also helps in the [PARA]general home hunt, which is increasingly fraught. Several local [PARA]agencies also make a quick buck getting in on the act.
