Don't bother with the White Swan, and if you do, be nice to the sailors. The Ents Hall in Alexandra House (cap 525), also attracts [ITAL]up and coming[EITAL] indie bands and ethnic and cultural music (eg Diwali and Afro-Caribbean nights). Alternatively, the University runs 2 main refectories - 1 on each site. [ITAL]Around town, the words to remember are fast food, fish and fire[EITAL]. There's a [ITAL]gut-rotting glut [EITAL]of fish'n'chip shops and burger joints, a fair few fancy fish feed-houses and, more than any other kind of restaurant, curry houses (including balti) by the furnace-full - [ITAL]a cult amongst students. [EITAL]The [ITAL]best [EITAL]restaurants are in Southsea, the area near the University's main site.
