Private parties are [PARA]held in the Palms Restaurant.[PARA][BOLD]Music venues: [EBOLD]ULU's professionally run entertainments are [PARA]hampered by having such a[ITAL] [EITAL]small venue (Manning Hall), [ITAL]but [PARA]everyone from Sister Sledge to Blessed Ethel pops in to party[EITAL].[PARA][BOLD]Cabaret: [EBOLD]ULU chucks chuckles weekly, in the form of Jim [PARA]Tavare, Bob Downe, Malcolm Hardee and more.[PARA][BOLD]Others:[EBOLD] Quite apart from the individual colleges' events there are [PARA]annual balls (the Freshers Ball lasts all night), regular quiz nights, [PARA]casinos and cultural and international social nights.[HDNG]EATING OUT:[EHDNG][PARA]During the day, ULU and the University offer 1 restaurant each, [ITAL][PARA]but if you were to eat lunch in a different place in London every [PARA]day, you'd be old and fat before you'd got to half of them.[EITAL] [PARA]Nowhere in the country has a broader choice of eateries. There [PARA]is every kind of cafe, restaurant and fast food and then some. [ITAL][PARA]Not everywhere is bank-busting either. Head for Soho and [PARA]Chinatown for affordable food and late night nibbles.
