Most students try to get a place in Treforest, it [PARA]being nearest the campus ([ITAL]Queen St is the golden prize[EITAL]), but [PARA]inevitably many end up in Ponty which is not only further,[ITAL] but also[PARA]not that welcoming. Merthyr is worse[EITAL]. [ITAL] With a car, the [PARA]surrounding villages become an alternative and it's quite useful for[PARA]jaunts to Cardiff, Ponty or the surrounding hills.
