Scraptoft's Top Bar [PARA]and Venue Bar[ITAL] are comfy and big[EITAL].[PARA][BOLD]Theatres:[EBOLD] (3) The Phoenix Arts Centre is run jointly with the [PARA]Leicester City Council and hosts students shows.[PARA][BOLD]Film: [EBOLD]The Film Society shows cult classics in The Arena at the [PARA]city site Union Building as well as sport by satellite TV.[PARA][BOLD]Clubs/discos:[EBOLD] The Arena has recently been expanded to a [PARA]capacity of 1,200 with a super sound system and MTV screen. [PARA]Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights it is the top spot for a [PARA]shift and shuffle. At the Scraptoft Union (cap 600), there are [PARA]discos 2 nights a week.[PARA][BOLD]Music venues:[EBOLD] The Arena can pull in [ITAL]big names[EITAL] of the calibre of [PARA]Blur, the Manic Street Preachers, Prodigy, Radiohead and The [PARA]Grid. It specialises in indie and dance and John Peel has called it [PARA]the best student venue for live bands in the country.
