What's new in Stars! V1.10a?
This is a maintenance release with a number of bug fixes and feature
changes. No new features have been added for this release. We have
fixed all of the reproducible bugs reported to us that have a significant
impact on game play. We have also changed several items to improve
game play. We were too far along on the new cool features for the next
version to port them back to the 'a' release, so you'll have to wait
for the killer new features for a few more months.

Changes
===========================================================================
The layout width now pegs the command pane to a maximum width of two tiles.
This prevents people from accidentally losing tiles in the 3rd column.
Changed the scoring algorithm as follows:
* Small ships count for only half a point apiece
* You only get points for the first N small and medium ships, where N
is three times the number of planets you control.
* Starbases are now worth only 5 points.
Changed the end game conditions required to be declared a winner. You
will now be declared the victor when your score doubles your nearest
competitor. Other factors have also been relaxed.
Made the random race generator more truly random.
Colonizing with less than 10 colonists decreases the size of the artifact,
if any, you will find at that planet.
When in fleet view while you are using the ship filter, only paths of
visible fleets will be shown.
The movement order of ship stacks in the battle VCR is now randomized for
ships with the same number of movement points.
The help file now contains help on all of the features added for 1.10.

Bug Fixes
===========================================================================
Problems with the ship filter mode in the scanner window have been fixed.
Mining efficiency chosen in the Race Wizard now properly affects
game play.
When using the Find Dialog to select an object that has no other objects
at the same location, the summary window multiple object indicator
no longer falsely lights. Clicking on it in these circumstances
no longer gives amusing results.
Fixed a bug in the AIs which caused them in rare circumstances to take
and extraordinary amount of time in turn generation and could cause
fleet location mix-ups. The fix also improves the AIs strategy
slightly.
Fixed a bug which would randomly allow unowned planets to be known to all
players at the start of the game.
The view button for Battles works consistently now even when you have
missed a turn or more.
Improved the alerts generated when game errors were encountered opening
a game file.
Fixed a bug where the race advantage 'Better battle initiative' didn't
actually give you the initiative. The initiative was mistakenly
given for a different combination of attributes.
Artifact bonuses from planet colonizations are now correctly accrued in
Slow Tech mode.
Cleaned up a number of scanner artifacts when in Fleet View mode.
The help file has been updated to correct a number of minor errors.
Disabled idle fleet messages for ships that are actively mining.
Fixed a problem which made it hard to complete several tutorial turns.
Fixed problems associated with the -t command line parameter.
Fixed a problem where fleets chasing other fleets sometimes ran out of
fuel too soon.
