Hi!
We are proud to introduce the latest game from Neurosport (tm):
SPACEKILL I: DEFENDERS (tm)
(EGA/VGA, 286-12 (AT), 386 or faster rec.)
In SPACEKILL I:DEFENDERS, you are a space combat pilot defending an
allied space dock from an enemy armada. You have five ships in reserve to
start and may earn more as you gain points from destroying the enemy. You
begin in your ship and will battle multiple waves of incoming enemy. If
the space dock is destroyed or you run out of reserve ships, you have lost.

SPACEKILL II: ATTACKERS - IN SPACEKILL II, you bring the attack
to the enemy's home system to destroy the
source of their power. New enemy ships and
different enemy locations are a real
challenge! Your new ship's weapons are
devastating in their increased power!

NOTICES:

* Information for CATALOGS, SHAREWARE DISTRIBUTORS and BBS's is included
at the bottom of this file.
* Information for mail ordering other fine NEUROSPORT products is included
immediately following the game instructions.

Starting the game:
=================
Type "spacekil" at the DOS prompt to start the game.
To play with no sound, type "spacekil -ns".
The Controls:
============
In general, do not hold a key down for very long but, instead, control your
ship with a series of key presses. High warp speeds make shooting accuracy
difficult, but increase your ability to maneuver.
To shoot your lasar, press the space bar. You will shoot five shots at a
time. You may only shoot straight ahead since your lasars are fixed only
to the bow and stern of your ship.
To apply thrust, use the PGUP key on the numeric keypad for thrust
ahead and PGDN for thrust reverse.
To switch to the rear gunner view, press the ENTER key. For ease of use,
there is an ENTER key next to most numeric keypads.
To fly upwards, use the arrow up (numeric pad 8) key.
To fly downwards, use the arrow down (numeric pad 2) key.
To fly left, use the arrow left (numeric pad 4) key.
To fly right, use the arrow right (numeric pad 6) key.
To pause the game, press 'p'.
To turn the sound on and off, press 's'.
For a help screen, press '?'.
The Display:
===========
You have a viewing screen at the top of your display screen. This allows
you to see out of your ship. Crosshairs indicate the general location
of your aim.
You have a radar screen which shows a top view location of yourself and
the space dock (white blips); the enemy ships, mother ships and photon
torpedoes (yellow blips); and asteroids or space mines (red blips).
Ship Damage refers to your shield strength and when they are gone you must
use a reserve ship (if any are left).
Dock Damage refers to the damage the space dock has received from the
enemy attacks. When the space dock is destroyed or you run out of ships,
the game is over.
Reserve Ships are the remaining ships for you to use.
The wave number and your points are to the lower right of the cockpit.
The Enemy:
=========
The battle takes place in an asteroid belt. Asteroids are brown and white
roundish objects. Your shields are always up and asteroids cannot penetrate
them. The Enemy has seeded the belt with space mines. Space mines are
pyramid shaped objects and will explode if you come too close. You can
destroy asteroids and space mines by shooting them with your lasar. The
Enemy spaceships are saucer shaped and shoot lasars. About half of them
will attack you and the rest will assault the space dock. The Allied Space
Dock is contained in a octahedron or diamond shaped force field and
is white and grey. The space dock is indicated on your radar display as
a white blip. You cannot enter the space dock. Occasionally, a Mother
Ship will enter the battle. Mother ships are cube shaped. Mother ships
will shoot photon torpedoes at you and they explode on contact.
Your warp drive causes the ship to be partially out of phase with the
universe. As a result, ships can warp right through each other and may
even be seen through under the right circumstances.
Some Tips:
==========
You will find that you will lose your space dock before all of your ships
are killed. This means that you should spend your time close to the space
dock hunting the Enemy which is attacking it.
Mother ships can produce enormous numbers of photon torpedoes. You should
kill Mother ships as soon as possible. They take several hits to kill and
will shoot at your ship and the space dock.
Practice matching velocities with the Enemy and shooting them. You will
find that practice improves your flying skills. Various maneuvers are possible
to gain better shots. Abrupt thrust changes may bring an Enemy into your
crosshairs. Be sure to press <ENTER> when an enemy flies past you in order
to get more shots at it.
