  2. Readme for BATMAN:VENGEANCE  PC

  4. This file will attempt to explain the basics of installing and 
  5. playing BATMAN on the PC.

  8. 1.system requirement:

  10. Minimum Configuration
  11. System: Windows 95/98/2000/XP
  12. Processor type and frequency:PentiumII 450 MHz
  13. RAM:128 MBytes RAM
  14. Graphics card:DirectX 8.1 or higher compatible 3D Accelerator card(GEFORCE256 32M Minium)
  15. CD ROM drive:4X CD-ROM
  16. Sound card: Sound Blaster Compatible Sound Card 
  17. Other: Keyboard/Mouse/gamepad

  31. 2.Install BATMAN:
  32. ===============================================================
  33. Insert the BATMAN CD in your CD-ROM drive.
  34. The setup is launched automatically.
  35. Follow the instructions through to the end choosing your configuration.
  36. If DirectX is not installed on your computer, or if the DirectX
  37. version present is older than 8.1, you will be prompted to install this version, present on the CD.
  38. DirectX version 8.1 is required for BATMAN to work.

  40. Notes:
  41. You can also start the BATMAN setup manually from the CD-ROM by running file SetupUbi.exe.
  42.  
  43. You can also start the DirectX 8.1 setup manually from the CD-ROM by running file Dx80eng.exe.

  48. You can use Graphicsetup.exe to test your system automatically.

  50. If you canÆt update the msvcrt.dll in Win98/95, please close other applications and run vcredist.exe 
  51. in CD in CD root folder\REDIST after installation, then restart your computer.

  53. For windows 95 users: Please run the Dcom\Dcom95.exe on BATMAN CD before installation.
  54. For Windows 98 users:Please run the Dcom\Dcom98.exe on BATMAN CD before installation.

  56. Free space for installation:
  57. Minimum install:7MB
  58. Compact install:256MB
  59. Full install: 549MB

  61. 3. Game control:
  62. ===============================================================
  63. We recommend playing with keyboard plus the mouse.
  64. However, it is possible to play with a keyboard only or a gamepad.

  68. Default directional keys:These keys are used to move in the desired direction
  69.     A(for left) 
  70.     D(for right)
  71.     W(for up)
  72.     S(for down)
  73. Mouse:     Can be used  in first person mode, and also can be used for action and jump.
  74.            Mouse1 for action and Mouse2 for jump
  75. Action keys: 
  76.     DELETE(punch)
  77.     END(Jump)
  78.     PgDn(Defend)
  79.     SPACE(enter/quit first Persion view)

  82. (Player can defy the key for his\her own preference)

  84. CUSTOM KEYBOARD CONFIGURATION

  86. If you plan to customize your keyboard configuration,
  87. note that the "action", "jump" and other action keys commands need to be controlled by different fingers. 
  88. And sometime you will need to use both keys simultaneously when performing a 'special move.'

  90. Installing the Game Pad:
  91. =============================================================
  92.     - Connect the pad to your sound card.
  93.     - Access the control panel.
  94.     - Access the game options (pad settings).
  95.     - Click on Add and select "4-button control pad".
  96.     - Click on Properties.
  97.     - In the Parameters tab, choose "Calibrate" and follow the instructions.

  99. You game pad is now working.

  101. 4. Starting BATMAN:

  104. If you have chosen the default configuration, you can start BATMAN
  105. by selecting Start/Programs/Ubi softGames/BATMAN VENGEANCE/BATMAN VENGEANCE

  108. 5. Rules of the game
  109. =============================================================

  111. The manual provides all the necessary information.

  113. 6.Other choises in game:

  115. Antialiasing: menu\option
  116. We recommend you to open this function only your video card is Geforce 2 or higher.
  117.

  119. Shadow: menu\option
  120. The game provide the function of real time shadow.
  121. Player can off this function to improve frame rate performance.

  123. Resolutions
  124. The game can be played in three different resolutions
  125. Low        Resolution (640x480)
  126. Average Resolution (800x600)
  127. High    Resolution (1024x768)

  129. These resolutions are selected in the menu Options/Resolution.
  130. Please note that not all resolutions are supported by 
  131. all video cards.
