  3.        README.TXT: LETTERHEAD.PRO FOR WORD FOR WINDOWS - BBS INSTALLATION
  4.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  6.  Thank for your interest in Letterhead Pro. This program will install 10 
  7.  letterhead TEMPLATES, 6 logos, and 1 watermark into Word for Windows. 
  8.  Each letterhead may be selected when you open a NEW document.  Of course, you
  9.  must have Word for Windows installed prior to the installation of Letterhead
  10.  Pro files. This edition comes with an "Anywhere to Anywhere" BBS installation.
  11.  
  12.  When you are finished using Letterhead Pro, all templates and related files
  13.  may be UNINSTALLED with CLEANUP.EXE. Use the RUN selection on the Windows
  14.  Program Manager menu (or equivalent), and select CLEANUP.EXE. This file is
  15.  a special file that will remove all traces of Letterhead Pro templates and
  16.  associated files. It may also be run from DOS in the Winword directory. 
  17.  
  18.  The installation program is in two stages, DOS and Windows. The BBS Install
  19.  program MUST be started from DOS on a hard disk (any directory) or a floppy 
  20.  drive by typing INSTALL. DO NOT START FROM INSIDE WINDOWS with the RUN command.
  21.  After completing the necessary DOS portion of the installation, INSTALL will
  22.  call up Word for Windows. When PROLET.DOC is on screen, the installation is
  23.  over and you are ready to begin.

  25.  PROLET.DOC contains instructions on how to use Letterhead Pro. You will be
  26.  shown how to order your own customized letterhead, logo, and watermark. It is
  27.  a Word document and must be viewed and printed from inside Word for Windows.
  28.  
  29.  You should print PROLET.DOC so you may use it as a guide when displaying and
  30.  printing the Letterhead Pro letterhead templates. You will be shown how you
  31.  may obtain your own customized PCX graphic letterheads for Word. All 
  32.  instructions, worksheets, and order forms are included. If you wish, you may
  33.  complete the Order Form from inside Word (use the TAB key to navigate from
  34.  field to field in the Order Form).
  35.  
  36.  You may design your own letterhead, convert your present printed letterhead,
  37.  or have CPI Software design a letterhead for you. CPI Software will convert
  38.  this letterhead design into a PCX image file, place it into a Word Template,
  39.  and return it to you. Each letterhead, logo, or watermark is only $29.95 each.
  40.  
  41.  If the printer you are currently using will print Window's pictures and
  42.  graphics, it will print graphical PCX letterheads. This includes lasers, 
  43.  ink jets, and dot-matrix printers. You do NOT need special printer drivers
  44.  or any add-ons to place a customized professionally created letterhead on
  45.  all your Word documents. Word for Windows and Letterhead Pro are all you need.
  46.  
  47.                                   INSTALLATION
  48.  
  49.  Letterhead Pro may be installed in one of three ways. It may also be removed
  50.  from your hard disk (uninstalled) using the CLEANUP command from Windows or
  51.  DOS. 
  52.  
  53.  1. Standard Installation:
  54.  
  55.  The STANDARD installation assumes that you have never changed the name of
  56.  Word's directory, and that it is still called "WINWORD." You will only have
  57.  to know the letter of the hard where WINWORD is located. This special BBS  
  58.  INSTALL program will let you start from any directory on your hard drive or
  59.  from a floppy diskette. (Anywhere but the WINWORD directory) After you have
  60.  unpacked the ZIP file, type INSTALL and strike the ENTER KEY. You will be 
  61.  given on-screen instructions. The installation must begin at the DOS prompt.
  62.  
  63.  2. Custom Installation:
  64.  
  65.  This "anywhere to anywhere" BBS installation may start anywhere on your hard 
  66.  drive (of floppy diskette), and let you place the letterhead templates into
  67.  any directory containing the Word for Windows program files. However, you must
  68.  type in the entire path to Word's files. For example, if you renamed the Word
  69.  for Windows directory "WORD," then this would be the full path:
  70.  
  71.                                   C:\WORD                           
  72.  
  73.  If you are not sure how you had installed Word, then use this method. Locate
  74.  the Word directory before starting INSTALL, and write down the proper DOS
  75.  path. After unpacking the ZIP files, start the installation by typing INSTALL
  76.  at the DOS PROMPT (NOT INSIDE WINDOWS WITH THE RUN COMMAND). Follow the 
  77.  on-screen directions. After the necessary part of the DOS installation, you 
  78.  will be taken inside Windows and into Word for Windows. When LETPRO.DOC is on
  79.  screen, the installation is completed.

  81.  3. Manual Installation:
  82.  
  83.  This method does not use the Letterhead Pro INSTALL program, but it must be
  84.  done exactly as follows: 
  85.  
  86.  a. Locate where the Word for Windows program files are on your hard disk. 
  87.     
  88.  b. Use the DOS COPY command to copy TEMPLATE.EXE into that directory. If Word 
  89.     is on drive C in the WINWORD directory, use the following command:
  90.  
  91.                          COPY TEMPLATE.EXE C:\WINDWORD
  92.     
  93.  c. When the TEMPLATE file is located in the Word directory, type TEMPLATE, and
  94.     strike the ENTER key. The Letterhead Pro files will expand out of the 
  95.     TEMPLATE.EXE file. Then delete TEMPLATE.EXE with this command:
  96.  
  97.                             DEL TEMPLATE.EXE
  98.  
  99.     Start Windows, and select the Word for Windows icon. When Word is on screen,
  100.     OPEN the file LETPRO.EXE in the Word for Windows directory. You will find
  101.     full instructions for obtaining your customized letterhead templates in 
  102.     this file. After you are through using Letterhead Pro, you may UNINSTALL
  103.     all the Letterhead Profiles by selecting the CLEANUP.EXE file with the 
  104.     Windows Program Manager's RUN command.
  105.

  108.  Letterhead Pro for WordStar for DOS, and Letterhead Pro for WordStar for 
  109.  Windows. In addition, Laser Letterhead plus and The Laser Letterhead Kit
  110.  are stand-alone letterhead printers that are available specifically for laser
