Description
~~~~~~~~~~~
The American Naturist Hypertext Guide - 2nd Edition Update 1/93
(Shareware Version) is a result of several years of information
gathering about naturist and nudist organizations in the United
States. Basic information about clubs, groups, SIGs, and other social
outlets for the naturist lifestyle has been maintained in a computer
database, and is now shared with those interested in a form of
communication know as 'hypertext.'
Hypertext enables the reader to easily move around the entire guide
and locate information quickly. Hypertext can be mastered with little
or no computer knowledge.
Naturist organizations are presented in this guide in a similar
fashion as one would find on a business card; names, addresses, phone
numbers, and names of persons to contact. In addition, categories are
provided to give a better understanding as to the focus of the
contact, brief membership information listed, newsletter name and
publishing period where applicable, and known affiliations with
national naturist organizations listed.
The Software
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The American Naturist Hypertext Guide - 2nd Edition comes in two
versions; the Shareware Version and the Retail Version.
The Shareware Version contains a total of 121 naturist & nudist
associations, clubs, and resorts.
The Retail Version contains 428 naturist & nudist associations, clubs,
and resorts as well as Special Interest Groups (SIGs), groups, bed &
breakfast, campgrounds, publications, and other recreational and
leisure interests.

Troubleshooting
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IF YOU ENCOUNTER IMMEDIATE BROWSER LOCKUP, read below for some
possible reasons:
I. Your computer is non-standard in some way in the upper
memory area (between 640K-1MB), and causes HyperHelper's
automatic scan of this area to lock up.
Solution: Try using the -xh option, which will prevent
HyperHelper from scanning the upper memory area. If you use
this option, then you may NOT load HyperHelper into the upper
memory area using the DOS loadhigh command.
II. If you are using QEMM 6.0 or NetWare, and use the -lim option,
the browser may lock up. Try using the new -limc option, (which
moves code but not data, see V3.03a notes), which has been
known to clear up problems with QEMM and NetWare.
III. Your mouse driver is old, or is not a true Microsoft compatible
driver.
Solution: Try using the -mo- option which disables the use of
the mouse in the browser. (Notice the dash before AND after
"mo".) If this clears up the problem, then either use this
option all the time, or try to update to the latest mouse
driver you can.
MOUSE DRIVERS:
If you have a Logitech mouse with an old driver (pre-V5.0), the mouse
action will not work properly in HyperHelper. Update to V5.0 or higher
of the driver to correct the problem.
Also, the browser will lock up if you are using a TrueMouse driver,
(purportedly supplied by NorthGate.) Even though this driver is
supposed to be 100% Microsoft compatible, it apparently isn't! The
same symptoms occur with some Mouse System mouse drivers.
Try to use the latest mouse driver you can, and if at all possible,
use a true Microsoft mouse driver.
Update Information
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2nd Edition - Update 1/93
* The 3rd Edition is well on it's way to completion. A new
hypertext system will be used which will provide more in-depth
information about organizations as well as graphic maps, the
ability for the reader to make notes within the book, and
enhanced searching capabilities. The entire text will be
revised and expanded. The new hypertext system will be easier
to use; it features on-line help, use of the arrow keys for
moving around, reader-configurable colors, and booksmarks.
Originally, the release of the 3rd Edition was planned for
January 1993. However, due to the volume of information
Web-Man Publications is receiving from organizations all over
the country, the release date has been pushed forward. In the
interest of keeping readers current on information, Web-Man
Publications has decided to update the Second Edition, which
will be sent free of charge to all registered readers.
None of the text for this edition has been changed; only the
organization cards have been updated.
* The authors wish to thank all of the readers who have provided
update information about organizations listed by using the
forms found within this guide. Thanks also to the many
organizations who have responded to our two mail-outs and
provided information for publication. Special thanks to
Steve Pierce who prompted the release of this update.
