  3.         DJSLEEVE, A DISKETTE SLEEVE PRINTER FOR DESKJET PRINTERS
  4.       ============================================================
  5.  
  6.     Tired of writing all the names of the files on your diskettes on those 
  7.     tiny labels that are supplied with them?  If you're like me, you have 
  8.     quite a few floppies full of archived files to store each week.
  9.  
  10.     DJSLEEVE (Version 2.0) will print out sleeves for your 3-1/2" and 
  11.     5-1/4" diskettes which will contain:
  12.  
  13.           o An optional Title (up to 59 characters)
  14.           o Number of files and directories on the disk
  15.           o Amount of storage space remaining (in bytes) on the disk
  16.           o Name, Extension, Date, and Size of all* the files
  17.         in the root directory and all subdirectories on 
  18.         the diskette
  19.  
  20.           * Up to 172 files on a 3 1/2" diskette, 196 files on a
  21.         5 1/4" diskette.
  22.  
  23.     All you will have to do is cut each sleeve out, fold as indicated and 
  24.     tape or glue the side flaps, and you will have a nice storage sleeve 
  25.     for all your diskettes.  Cutting and taping takes too much time?  
  26.     What about all the time you spend getting writer's cramp trying to 
  27.     get all those tiny little file names on your labels!
  28.  
  29.     Be creative.  Use colored paper for disks containing the same types of 
  30.     files, e.g. clip art, PageMaker or Ventura files, spreadsheets, etc.

  32.     SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
  33.           o IBM PC XT, AT, or compatible
  34.           o One floppy disk drive
  35.           o DOS 3.0 or higher
  36.           o DeskJet, DeskJet+ or DeskJet 500(C) printer connected to 
  37.         LPT1:, LPT2: or LPT3:
  38.  
  39.     To use the program from a hard disk:
  40.  
  41.      Copy the file DJSLEEVE.EXE to your hard disk.  Placing it in a 
  42.      subdirectory which is part of your PATH statement will allow you 
  43.      to run the program from any subdirectory by typing DJSLEEVE at the 
  44.      DOS command line, otherwise you will have to log on to the 
  45.      subdirectory containing the DJSLEEVE.EXE file before typing 
  46.      DJSLEEVE on the command line.

  48.     To use the program from a floppy disk drive:
  49.  
  50.      Place the floppy disk containing the DJSLEEVE.EXE file in Drive A 
  51.      or Drive B.  Log on to that drive by typing A: or B:, whichever is 
  52.      appropriate.  Load the program by typing DJSLEEVE on the command 
  53.      line.  When the program has been loaded into memory, you may 
  54.      remove the program disk from the disk drive if you need to use 
  55.      that disk drive to place a disk for making a sleeve.
  56.  
  57.     To install DJSLEEVE as a DOS application running under Windows 3.x:
  58.  
  59.      Copy the files DJSLEEVE.EXE, DJSLEEVE.ICO and DJSLEEVE.PIF into 
  60.      the subdirectory on your hard disk containing your Windows files.
  61.  
  62.      Load Windows as you normally do.  From the Program Manager, click 
  63.      on your Main group (or whatever group you wish to install DJSLEEVE 
  64.      in) and then pull down the File/New/Program Item menu.  Type 
  65.      "DJSleeve" on the first line, then DJSLEEVE.PIF on the second 
  66.      line.  Click on "Change icon," then type "DJSLEEVE.ICO" in the 
  67.      first box, click on View Next, then click on OK, then OK again.  
  68.      The DJSLEEVE icon should appear in your program group.

  70.      To run this program in Windows, double click on the DJSLEEVE icon.

  72.     To use the program from the DOS prompt, turn your printer on (it must 
  73.     be connected to LPT1:, LPT2:, or LPT3:), then type DJSLEEVE on the 
  74.     command line.  The program will prompt you to place a disk in drive A 
  75.     or B, then to enter the title you want to put on the sleeve (optional, 
  76.     just press ENTER to skip the title), the disk drive your disk is in (A 
  77.     or B), and the size of the disk, 3 1/2" or 5 1/4".  You will then be 
  78.     prompted for the parallel port your DeskJet is connected to: LPT1:, 
  79.     LPT2: or LPT3:.  Type the appropriate number, then press ENTER.

  81.     The program will read the disk (a message "WORKING, PLEASE WAIT A 
  82.     MOMENT" will be displayed), then print the sleeve.  This process will 
  83.     take a few seconds, more if your particular floppy disk drive is on the 
  84.     slow side, or there are many files and/or subdirectories on the floppy 
  85.     disk.  After the sleeve is printed, you will be prompted to print 
  86.     additional sleeves if you like (type Y or y), or exit (type N or n).

  88.     Cut out each sleeve along the solid lines, fold back on the dotted 
  89.     lines, then glue or tape the flaps to the back.  If your 3 1/2" sleeve 
  90.     contains more than 132 files, an additional 44 files will print outside 
  91.     the margin of the sleeve itself.  You can cut this section out 
  92.     separately, and slip into the sleeve along with your diskette.

  157.                DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE

  159. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it.
  160. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are expected to
  161. register. Individual programs differ on details -- some request registration
  162. while others require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With
  163. registration, you get anything from the simple right to continue using the
  164. software to an updated program with printed manual.

  181. product, you don't pay for it.

  192. for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your friends, but please do not
  193. give it away altered or as part of another system.  The essence of "user-
  194. supported" software is to provide personal computer users with quality
