1INTRODUCTION
DRIV-MAN is a disk utility management tool that displays pertinent
logical disk drive data - up to twenty-six drives - on a SINGLE SCREEN
for analysis/storage.
The DRIV-MAN display includes: DRIVE DATA SUMMARY with capacity, used and
free for each available/selected drive, DRIVE DATA GRAPH with the same
data for each drive, TOTAL DISK SUMMARY and GRAPH, and INDIVIDUAL DRIVE
DATA displaying information on one drive at a time.
Program options include: Toggle any of six sort orders for the DRIVE DATA
SUMMARY, selectable/editable display DRIVE RANGE, disk storage of the
DISK DRIVE SUMMARY display, and the ability to run a file manager, FILE-
MAN, from within the program.
Registered users may also change the various display colors, the location
of the display sections, and various setup parameters.
2COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS
The syntax for DRIV-MAN is:
[drive:path]DRIV-MAN [[first_drive][-][last_drive]][/a][/c][/gxxx][/m]
where:
first_drive default = C
last_drive default = LASTDRIVE as defined in DOS/CONFIG.SYS
/a = Automatically run DRIV-MAN and store the display.
/c = Force CGA monitor.
(/g)xxx = Optional configuration file extension (default is CFG).
Use of the configuration file is limited to registered
users only. Example: /gcg2 will use "DRIV-MAN.CG2".
/m = Force monochrome monitor.
Press [PAGEDOWN] for some first_drive - last_drive examples.

INDIVIDUAL DRIVE DATA
The INDIVIDUAL DRIVE DATA section is at the lower portion of the screen
and may be scrolled, either by pressing the desired DRIVE LETTER or using
the cursor arrow keys. Its four portions are detailed below:
Logical DISK DRIVE whose data is being ┌┤ DRIVE C ├─────
displayed and its Volume Label. └┤ SYSTEM-4C ├
Selected logical drive CAPACITY in bytes. ┤ CAPACITY ├─────
┤ 33,431,552 ├

and percentage. ┤ 14,612,480 ├────
Selected logical drive FREE STORAGE in bytes ┤ FREE ( 55.7%) ├┐
and percentage. ┤ 18,819,072 ├┘
->·To display another DRIVE's full data, press the desired DRIVE letter
or used the cursor arrow keys - [HOME] [END] [UPARROW] [DOWNARROW]
[PAGEUP] [PAGEDOWN]
4[F2] EDIT DISK DRIVE RANGE
The selected disk DRIVE RANGE may be changed and re-displayed without
exiting and re-running DRIV-MAN. Especially useful in a network
environment, the range can be set for the physical drives of each system.
->·To change the selected/displayed DRIVE RANGE, press [F2]. The
currently selected DRIVE RANGE is displayed. Edit the DRIVE RANGE, using
the control keys noted on the bottom line, as it would have been entered
on the command line. When editing is complete, press [ENTER].
─>·To leave the DRIVE RANGE as it was before editing, press [ESCAPE].
5[F3] STORE DATA
The DRIV-MAN screen display, of the Disk Summary Data, may be saved to
allow comparisons with previous or future displays.
Using this feature, a snapshot may be saved before cleaning up a logical
drive/drives and then another snapshot saved afterward, for comparison.
Another use is to take Disk Summary snapshots monthly to see how the
system's disk status is changing over time.
->·To store the screen display, press [F3]. The screen display will be
stored in a file named "DRIVE-MAN.DAT", and a completion message
displayed. If this file already exists, on the drive-directory on which
the program is located, the current data will be APPENDED to it. If the
file does not exist, it will be CREATED on the same drive-directory as
the program.
6[F4] SHELLING TO A FILE MANAGER
FILE-MAN, another shareware program from Micrometric, is a menu driven
file manager utility. It, or another file manager, may be run directly
from DRIV-MAN to copy, move, delete files or perform other file
maintenance functions.
->·To run FILE-MAN, first select the desired drive by pressing it's
letter, and then press [F4].
Registered users may change the name of the desired file manager by use
of the configuration file.
7CONFIGURATION FILE
The optional DRIV-MAN configuration file contains all of the display
color and position variables. These variables are initially set to the
program defaults. They may be edited by use of any ASCII editor/word
processor.
USE OF THE CONFIGURATION FILE IS LIMITED TO REGISTERED USERS.
