  4. This file contains the results of 20 years of NFL games --
  5. from the AFL/NFL merger year of 1970 to 1989.
  6.  
  7. Each game is represented by a line like this:
  8.

  13. Week numbers greater than 16 indicate playoff games.  Note that
  14. this scheme must be modified if you add 1990 or later data because
  15. there are more regular season games.

  17. I've checked the won/lost/tied and points scored/allowed
  18. for the regular season against the record books, and they all
  19. add up.  I checked the playoff results by hand, as well.   It
  20. may not be completely error-free, but it's not bad.

  22. Generally, the home team is the first team listed.  I have not
  23. checked these data, and there is no indication for games played
  24. at neutral sites (like the Super Bowl, or Detroit vs. Green Bay
  25. at Milwaukee), so use this with care!

  33. These files, as well as the above comments were downloaded from
  34. a BBS somewhere in the Southern States a couple of years ago. 
  35. I checked a lot of it and it looks pretty accurate, so I took 
  36. the liberty of adding the results for 1990 and 1991, as well 
  37. as adding this year's (1992) schedule.  I also added a few 
  38. comments about changes in league scheduling and team movements.

  40. I don't guarantee 100% accuracy either but I think it's 
  41. pretty close.
