  20. The a2i network is in its initial phase of becoming available for public
  21. access. This is a professionally-run system based on a network of Sun
  22. machines. It offers:
  23.  
  24.    o  Usenet news.
  25.    o  Electronic mail.
  26.    o  Internet access, including telnet and ftp.
  27.       Our IP address is 192.160.13.1.
  28.    o  A SunOS (Unix) software development environment.
  29.    o  News feeds and electronic mail via UUCP, for UUCP subscribers.
  30.    o  A permanent electronic mail address for you.
  31.    o  Other services to be added.

  33. Subscription rates depend on the amount of prepayment.

  35. Subscription rates for personal accounts are given below.  A personal
  36. account is for use by one person only.

  45. There is no sign-up fee and no connect-time charge.  Your subscription
  46. entitles you to 5 megabytes of disk space.  Signing up for a 3- or
  47. 6-month term gives you substantial savings and protects you against rate
  48. increases for the duration of your subscription term.

  50. Inexpensive trial subscription:  You may sign up for a 3- or 6-month
  51. term, then cancel at any time for a proportionate refund.  For example,
  52. if you prepay for a 6-month term, but cancel after the first month, your
  53. cost for the first month will be just $12.

  55. HOW TO SUBSCRIBE
  56.  
  57. Be sure you are looking at a current copy of this document.  Its
  58. expiration date is at the bottom.  Send your subscription request and
  59. fee in US funds (payable to "a2i communications") by postal service to
  60. the address below, and include your name, postal address, telephone
  61. number (both daytime and evening if possible), and email address if
  62. available.  Please specify a username and a password.  Your username
  63. must consist of three to eight lowercase letters "a" through "z".  Your
  64. password must contain six to eight characters and must be hard to guess.
  65. (Use a random mixture of the following in your password: lowercase and
  66. uppercase alphabetic characters; the digits 0 through 9; and special
  67. characters such as @$#%&/+.)
  68.  
  69. Your account will typically be active the same day that we receive
  70. payment.  We will give you confirmation of account creation by email if
  71. an email address is available, else we will confirm via telephone or
  72. postal service.

  74. NOTE:  If our password checking software considers your requested
  75. password easy to guess, we will assign you a new password and notify
  76. you by telephone call or postal service.  After you log in you will be
  77. able to change your password at any time.

  84. obtained by any of the following methods.  1. Send any mail message to
  85. info@rahul.net; a daemon will auto-reply.  2. Get the file called
  86. /pub/BLURB by anonymous ftp from ftp.rahul.net.  3. Use your modem to
  87. dial 408-293-9010 (v.32 or v.32 bis) or 408-293-9020 (PEP) and log in
  88. as "guest".  4. From the Internet, telnet to a2i.rahul.net (IP
  89. address 192.160.13.1), and log in as "guest".
