  4. What you need:  IBM (tm) compatable with HGA,CGA,EGA,or VGA color.
  5.                 You should have a '286 or better because the routines
  6.                 are very mathematically intensive.  I have found that
  7.                 you can use an XT(tm) class machine if you have a
  8.                 co-processor.  A '286-12 MHZ machine with a co-processor 
  9.                 will calculate a page of planetary data in about 7 seconds.
  10.                 A '386-16 MHZ machine without a co-processor will do 
  11.                 about the same.  An XT-10MHZ without a coprocessor will
  12.                 ....come back tomorrow.  However, with a coprocessor, it
  13.                 rivals the '286 with co-processor.  If you do not have
  14.                 a coprocessor, consider seriously getting one.  All of
  15.                 your graphics intensive programs will also benefit.

  22.                 Ephemeris II is an astrological ephemeris.  An ephemeris 
  23.                 is a catalogue of planetary positions.  You can usually
  24.                 purchase an ephemeris from bookstores for about $30 or
  25.                 so.  The main problem with the standard books, however,
  26.                 is that they usually cover only the years 1900-2000 and
  27.                 they list planets for each day at a specified time ie.
  28.                 12:00 noon GMT or EST.  If the astrologer wishes to
  29.                 know the planetary positions at a specified time and
  30.                 place, he/she is out of luck and must interpolate and
  31.                 guess between dates listed in the book.

  33.                 Ephemeris II is much more powerful.  The program can
  34.                 calculate the planetary positions to about 1 minute of
  35.                 arc back to 1 AD.  Ephemeris II will allow you to get a 
  36.                 reading of planetary positions on the spot as you ask 
  37.                 for it.

  39.                 The registered version also calculates the aspects 
  40.                 formed on the day, time and place chosen.  This is an
  41.                 added plus that no ephemeris book can provide.

  43. Operation:      The operation of this program is simplicity in itself.
  44.                 There are 3 options:
  45.  
  46.                 1.      Calculates a page of planetary positions for
  47.                         a date chosen and the next 19 days at the 
  48.                         same time of day.
  49.  
  50.                 2.      Calculates a page of planetary positions for
  51.                         now (system date and time) and the next 19 days
  52.                         at the same time of day.
  53.  
  54.                 3.      Calculates an aspect chart showing Trines,
  55.                         Sextiles, Squares, Oppositions, etc. for
  56.                         a user chosen date and time.

  58.                 The entry screens are self explanatory.  The manual that
  59.                 comes with the registered version goes into some depth
  60.                 in astrological principals and interpretation.
