  8.                       POWER PREMIUM AND MICROSOFT C/C++

  11. PROBLEM:       Microsoft C/C++ version 7.0 fails to install under DOS.
  12.  
  13. CAUSE:         Failure with the "get video mode" function call on the Video
  14.                BIOS.
  15.  
  16. AFFECTED
  17. SYSTEMS:       All systems that utilize the Western Digital 90C31 Accelerator
  18.                Chip.  Power Premium and Server EISA with motherboard part
  19.                number 202472-001.
  20.  
  21. SOLUTION:      A work around for the customer is to run VESA.EXE in the
  22.                AUTOEXEC.BAT or from the command line, before installing
  23.                Microsoft C/C++.  VESA.EXE can be found on the AST Bulletin
  24.                Board System under the filename VGA-1DWA.ZIP.
