  230.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  231.  the compressed by displaying a list of
  232.  files in a window.  After the window is
  233.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  234.  pressing the space bar.  After all files

  236.  process the tagged files.

  239.  This option will allow you to add or
  240.  update the compressed file comments.

  243.  This option will delete all files that
  244.  are contained in the compressed file
  245.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  246.  one specified via the ALT-P command.

  248. *alte  !!extract list!!
  249.  This option allow you to specify which
  250.  files to extract from the compressed
  251.  file. You may specify more the one
  252.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  253.  cards are allowed.
  254.  
  255. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  256.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  257.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  258.  of files in a window.  After the window
  259.  is displayed you tag the files to
  260.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  261.  After all files have been tagged press
  262.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  263.  files.
  264.  
  265. *altg   !!search for string!!
  266.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  267.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  268.  characters using the program SGREP.COM
  269.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  270.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  271.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  272.  completed to results will be listed on the
  273.  screen. A normal or Regular Expression
  274.  search may be performed.  Regular Expression
  275.  searches are always case sensitive!!!!!
  276.  
  277. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  278.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  279.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  280.  of files in a window.  After the window
  281.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  282.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  283.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  284.  key to process the tagged files.
  285.  
  286. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  287.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  288.  files from the compressed file into the
  289.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  290.  via the ALT-P command.
  291.  
  292. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  293.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  294.  and directory of where any extracted files
  295.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  296.  follows:
  297.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  298.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  299.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  300.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  301.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the F9 key.
  302.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  303.  use it's floating extract location
  304.  logic.
  305.  
  306. *altr !!rename highlighted!!
  307.  The ALT-R command allows you to rename the
  308.  currently hilighted file in the compressed
  309.  file. You will be prompted for a new name.
  310.  
  311. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  312.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  313.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  314.  the window pops up enter a standard DOS
  315.  file search pattern and press the enter
  316.  key.
  317.  The display will be repositioned to the
  318.  first or next file that matches the
  319.  pattern.
  320.  
  321. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  322.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  323.  the tagged file display line at the
  324.  bottom of the screen.
  325.  
  326. *altu    !!update-from-list!!
  327.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  328.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  329.  of files in a window.  After the window
  330.  is displayed you tag the files to
  331.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.
  332.  After all files have been tagged press
  333.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  334.  files.

  336. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  337.  This option will display the master
  338.  comment record and the file comment
  339.  records for the selected compressed
  340.  file.

  342. *altx  !!extract all!!
  343.  This option will extract ALL files from
  344.  the compressed file into the current
  345.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  346.  the ALT-P command.
  347.  
  348. *alty   !!run pgm on tagged!!
  349.  This option allows run a program against
  350.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  351.  to enter the program name to run, the
  352.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  353.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  354.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  355.  to pause after each execution of your
  356.  program.
  357.  
  358. *altz  !!virus check!!
  359.  This option will check files to see if they
  360.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  361.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  362.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  363.  and have used the configuration program to
  364.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  366.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK
  367.  THE TAGGED FILES FOR INFECTION.

  369. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  370.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  371.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  372.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  373.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  374.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  375.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  376.  compressed file contents screen.
  377.  
  378. *c  !!create-new!!
  379.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  380.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  381.  to enter the
  382.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  383.  compressed file to create, whether you
  384.  want to add or move files into the new
  385.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  386.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  387.  new compressed file.
  388.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  389.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  390.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH,PAK
  391.  and UC2 files!!!!!
  392.  
  393.  You will also be asked if you want to
  394.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  395.  the entered file spec as is.
  396.  
  397.  If the compression program you choose
  398.  supports saving path information you will
  399.  also be asked if you want to save
  400.  directory information, and if you want to
  401.  recurse the directory tree.
  402.  
  403.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  404.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  405.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  406.  information that can be stored inside the
  407.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  408.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  409.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  410.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)
  411.  
  412.  
  413. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  414.  This option will delete all tagged files
  415.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  416.  asked to verify the delete before the
  417.  files are actually deleted from the
  418.  compressed file.
  419.  
  420. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  421.  This option will extract all tagged
  422.  files from the compressed file.
  423.  
  424. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  425.  This option will activate the alternate
  426.  file viewer if one has been defined in
  427.  the SHEZ.EV external file.
  428.  PLEASE SEE  THE USER MANUAL FOR
  429.  INSTRUCTIONS ON SETTING UP AN
  430.  ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  431.  
  432. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  433.  This option will set the compressed
  434.  file's time and date to the time and
  435.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  436.  the compressed file.
  437.  
  438. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  439.  This option will untag all currently
  440.  tagged files.
  441.  
  442. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  443.  This option will tag all files in the
  444.  currently displayed window.
  445.  
  446. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  447.  This option will convert a self
  448.  extracting file back to its native
  449.  compressed file format. The self
  450.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  451.  The normal compressed file will be
  452.  built on the same drive and directory
  453.  where self extracting file is found.
  454.  
  455. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  456.  This option allows you to copy all
  457.  tagged files from the current compressed
  458.  file into another compressed file.  The
  459.  target compressed file may be any
  460.  currently supported format.
  461.  
  462. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  463.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  464.  drop you off into disk and directory
  465.  that is specified as the extract
  466.  location.
  467.  
  468. *d  !!delete one file!!
  469.  This option will delete the currently
  470.  highlighted file from the compressed
  471.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  472.  delete before the delete is actually
  473.  done.
  474.  
  475. *e  !!extract one file!!
  476.  This option will extract the currently
  477.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  478.  drive and directory, or the
  479.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  480.  the ALT-P command.
  481.  
  482. *f      !!freshen!!
  483.  Using this option you can specify the
  484.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  485.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  486.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  487.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  488.  extensions.
  489.  
  490. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  491.  This option will temporarily exit to
  492.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  493.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  494.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  495.  the return key.
  496.  
  497. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  498.  This option will temporarily exit to
  499.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  500.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  501.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  502.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  503.  
  504. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  505.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  506.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  507.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  508.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  509.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  510.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  511.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  512.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  513.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  514.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  515.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  516.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  517.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  518.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  519.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  520.  
  521. *f8  !!edit!!
  522.  This option will allow you to edit a
  523.  file in the compressed file.  This
  524.  option will only work if you specified
  525.  an editor to use when you configured
  526.  compressedPER.
  527.  
  528. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  529.  Using this option you can specify how
  530.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  531.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  532.  Extension, Date, Size, or Unsorted.
  533.  
  534. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  535.  This option will allow you to set the
  536.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  537.  programs.  When you set the compression
  538.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  539.  change it again.
  540.  
  541.  
  542. *g  !!password!!
  543.  This option allows you to specify the password
  544.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  545.  compression program does not support passwords
  546.  an error window will appear informing you that
  547.  the option is not supported.
  548.  
  549. *i  !!show info!!
  550.  This option will show information about
  551.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  552.  files in file, total size of all files,
  553.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
  554.  
  555. *m     !!mode!!
  556.  Using this option you can specify the
  557.  file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  558.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  559.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  560.  cards are allowed for filenames and
  561.  extensions.
  562.  
  563. *o !!toggle overwrite!!
  564.  This option toggles overwrite mode. When
  565.  overwrite mode is active the letter "O"
  566.  will appear in the upper right corner of
  567.  the compressed display heading line.
  568.  When overwrite is active the uncompress
  569.  pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  570.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  571.  extract a file from the compressed file.
  572.  
  573. *p  !!path options!!
  574.  This option allows you to specify if you
  575.  want to save and/or use path information
  576.  when working with compressed files.
  577.  
  578. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  579.  This option will immediately exit
  580.  SHEZ.
  581.  
  582. *r  !!run a file!!
  583.  This option will extract and run the
  584.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  585.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  586.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  587.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  588.  deleted.
  589.  
  590. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  591.  This option allows you to add and or
  592.  update the comment records associated
  593.  with the currently highlighted file.
  594.  
  595. *sfts  !!add/update file comments!!
  596.  This option allows you to add and or
  597.  update the comment records assocaited
  598.  with each file in the compressed file.
  599.  
  600. *t  !!test compressed!!
  601.  This option will test the integrity of
  602.  the compressed file.
  603.  
  604. *u       !!update!!
  605.  Using this option you can specify the
  606.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  607.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  608.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  609.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  610.  extensions.
  611.  
  612. *v  !!view!!
  613.  This option will allow you to view the
  614.  contents of a file in the compressed
  615.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  616.  to view the file.
  617.  
  618. *z  !!mask!!
  619.  This option allows you to specify a file
  620.  mask to be used when displaying the
  621.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  622.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  623.  only the files having an extension of C
  624.  will be displayed on the screen.
  625.  
  626. *maltd !!view 4dos!!
  627.  This option will display the 4DOS or
  628.  NDOS file descriptions that are
  629.  maintained by the DESCRIBE command.
  630.  SHEZ can only handle a description
  631.  file that is 30,000 bytes or less.
  632.  
  633. *maltu !!update/add 4dos!!
  634.  This option allows you to update/add
  635.  NDOS/4DOS file descriptions to the
  636.  highlighted file.
