PL Tone Encoding
Sub-audible tones, officially called CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch
System) were originally developed by Motorola Communications. Every major
manufacturer of communications equipment has a name for their own brand of
tone signalling. The most often mentioned are Private Line (Motorola), and
Channel Guard (General Electric). The term 'PL' is probably used most often
and refers to any type of tone alerting or control, either audible or
sub-audible. The standard Electronic Industries Association (EIA) codes (in
Hertz) are shown in the table below.
67.0 97.4 141.3 206.5

Zip Codes found within the database are those of the licensee and may
not be geographically near the location which might be expected for a given
service. For instance, the parent company which owns a particular radio
service might be a nationally-based organization with headquarters in a
different state.

$" Frequency Report Generator
The Frequency Report Generator (FRG) is a handy utility for
producing specific lists or files of frequencies. It enables
you to define the search criteria using any combination of the
data fields and then to view the results on the screen, print
them out on paper, or export them as a .DBF type file.
More detailed Help Screens are available throughout the entire
Frequency Report Generator section.

can be selected with any range and then narrowed with additional subsets
until you have found the data which you are looking for.
