  69.  NOTES:
  70.  1) This is only a PATCH to WA8DED firmware for using it with
  71.     MFJ 1278 TNCs.  The resultant code is still copyrighted
  72.     by Ronald E. Raikes.
  73.  2) Code from 61B4 to 61F0 is added to the bottom of the 
  74.     original firmware so the original data is unknown.
  75.  3) BE SURE TO PATCH THE SAME VERSION 
  76.     these patches only work with the listed version
  77.     (Check for original values to match with the listed ones.)
  78.  4) You can program this code on a 27C256 EPROM but in such
  79.     case you must leave PIN 1 of the IC OUT OF THE SOCKET and
  80.     wire it to +5 Volts (PIN 28 of the EPROM).
  81.     If You use a 27C512 program the code IN THE SECOND HALF
  82.     OF THE EPROM (starting from address 8000H).
  83.  5) Remove the original EPROM at position U23 and install
  84.     the WA8DED patched one, the MFJ 1278 will respond
  85.     you as a TNC2 at 9600 BAUD.
  86.     To work at 4800 BAUD Patch  61B6:48  61C6:08
  87.  6) With this FIRMWARE you will lose the multi mode capabilty
  88.     of MFJ 1278, it is intended to allow you to enjoy programs
  89.     like SP in true HOST MODE.
  90.  7) The patches listed are 110 if you read less this message is
  91.     corrupted get a good one.)
  92.  8) The followings new commands are available:
  93.     
  94.     @R0 (Default)  Select  RADIO 1 port
  95.     @R1            Select  RADIO 2 port
  96.  
  97.     @A0 (Default)  Select VHF PACKET modem
  98.     @A1            Select  HF PACKET modem
  99.  
  100.     @X0 (Dfault)   Select 1200 BAUD VHF PACKET modem
  101.     @X1            Select 2400 BAUD VHF PACKET modem (MFJ TURBO ONLY)
  102.  
  103.     @J  For software experts only Cause a JUMP to location 7000H.
  104.         I have put a EFKISS code here so i have kiss too.
  105.         DONOT USE OR THE TNC WILL HANG 
  106.         (The code to be added at location 7000H to get EFKISS is
  107.         available upon request.)

  112. **** Note, the 1278DED.ROM is patched for 9600 and ready to go. Do not attempt
  113. to repatch it unless you only want to change the computer to tnc buadrate to
  114. 4800. It has been tested with the 1278 on FBBS systems and works great!
