SURINT
SURINT translates existing mine design or geological analysis data
into a 3D MicroStation design file. SURINT allows mining and
exploration professionals to view, manipulate, and enhance data in a
true 3D graphics environment. Exploration or drillhole assay data, as
well as grade and lithology color coding, can easily be translated with
user-defined parameters to produce a drilling assay model. SURINT
will translate existing mine design/analysis package string
information to enable true analysis and editing of conceptual as well
as production-oriented data.

CADSmine
CADSmine is a suite of integrated 3D mining applications currently
being used as a design and production system at several of South
Africa's large underground gold mines. All data is stored in dBASE
files and all processing done with fast, efficient C and Clipper
programs. CADSmine ASSISTANT is the compulsory core module
of CADSmine that manages all directories, files, and data. The level
manager is an example of one of many included database and
graphic utilities that are useful for all the CADSmine applications
described below:
* CADSmine BOREHOLES is used for database capture of survey
information, lithology, sample, and point data such as fault
positions and directional information. Traces showing lithology in
different colors can be plotted in 3D design files together with
sample distribution graphs. Distributions can also be plotted for
interactively defined mining cuts passing through several
boreholes. CADSmine BOREHOLES assists with interactive
geological interpretation in CADSmine SURFACES.
* CADSmine SURFACES is used for creation and capture of
geological and excavation surfaces used for visualization, volume
calculations, mine design layouts, and draping of samples. Tools
are provided for interactive interpretation of 3D surfaces such as
faults, overturned structures, and intersections. Point and
directional information can be used from boreholes, pegs,
survey, and mapping. DTM models can be created interactively or
automatically with data prepared for GWN-DTM (see Mapping
and GIS section of this catalog).
* CADSmine ORE RESERVES imports raw sample data or
regularized geostatistical point data. Point attribute values
(grams/ton, channel width, or pay/no-pay) can be displayed in
user-defined color ranges as active points, hatched rectangles, and
text. 3D meshes can also be produced with vertical exaggeration.
Raw sample data can be verified, corrected, filtered, and exported
for geostatistical analysis. Polygon block grade averages are
automatically computed from regularized point data.
Compositing can be performed on different sets of regularized
data. Grade distribution and surfaces are used for mine planning.
* CADSmine DESIGN is designed for rapid creation and editing of
alternative 3D mine layouts. Parameters such as costs, dimensions,
gradient, methods, excavation rates, types, and sections make it
possible to design mines and produce reports without a
calculator. Various mining shapes can be generated for trackless
and conventional mining. Tools are available for coping with
complex mining situations such as spirals, ore pass connections,
and intersections with and tracking along reefs.
* CADSmine SCHEDULING is used to schedule a mine layout
created with CADSmine DESIGN. Dependencies, excavation
rates, start dates, and delays are interactively defined in 3D design
files. Once scheduled, color-coded dates and stope face positions
are displayed. Life of mine type reports and graphs can also be
produced. The "what if?" effects of changing the layout,
excavation rates, mining sequence, and ore reserves information
can be evaluated quickly and accurately.
* In CADSmine PRODUCTION TARGETING, excavation rates are
modified and the model rescheduled iteratively to achieve best fit
with a specified production target(s). The process may either be
computer aided (under full user control) or automatic using
profitability and tolerance criteria. Violation of rock mechanics
and ventilation constraints can be corrected for at each stage by
examining face positions at each time horizon in the process.
Production graphs and reports are produced.
* In CADSmine SURVEY, survey measurements are digitized from
drawings or automatically created in 3D from field book data
capture. The system includes a pegs system and various databases
for information such as dates, workplaces, depletions, sample
averages, sweeping, contractors, and gangs. Data capture is via
editing screen and interactive graphics operations. Information is
used for complete month-end reporting and comparing actuals
with planned. Surveyed face positions are used by CADSMine
Design for on-going planning.

technique enables the automatic calculation of piping cut lengths
and thereby the generation of 100% material lists which can be
displayed within the design and further processed with the
database. Special functions like cross-breaking of pipes,
automatic choice of connections (for example welded or flanged),
selection of piping branches (for example tee or weldolet), fully
automatic dimensioning, including the calculation of real
coordinates and automatic creation of triangles for diagonal
piping construction, are standard. When integrated with the P&ID
Module, consistency checks can be carried out.
AlaDin-Layout Module
* The Layout Module is very user-friendly 2D software with which to
design space assignment plans. You can use this tool to construct
different plans, for example piping and danger/alarm plans for
the fire department. You can also use this module for the facility
management of units, to which you can store attributes such as
item number, name of manufacturer, costing department,
maintenance rates, and costs.
AlaDin-P&ID Module
* The P&ID Module includes all necessary symbols and functions
for the chemical and power plant industries. There are special
functions like the interface for online dialogs to verify the
components in piping classes. An 80% material list is obvious.
Further listings are prepared for piping lines, instruments, and
main equipment. The P&ID Module is the basis of the integrated
solution. International specifications are taken into account. The
dialog is in English or German.

Model Interference Checker
Part number SE**21300. Intergraph's interference-checking software
plays an integral role in modeling complex process and power
plants with Intergraph's Plant Design System, but is also used to
identify interferences between mechanical, HVAC, and structural
systems in buildings. It identifies hard and soft interferences. Hard
clashes are physical, such as a beam interfering with a pipe. Soft
clashes may be inadequate safety clearances, for example. Identifying
these potential construction problems during detail design on the
3D computer model enables them to be corrected quickly and cost-
effectively. Output from the Model Interference Checker includes a
3D design file showing the conflicting components and a standard
ASCII text file.

Plant Design System
Part number SE**01006. Intergraph's Plant Design System (PDS)
consists of integrated discipline-specific modules for design,
engineering, and documentation of process and power plants. Major
disciplines include: Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams and Model
Interference Checking (see descriptions), Instrumentation,
Equipment, Structural Engineering (see MicasPlus Model Draft),
Piping, HVAC (see Project Engineer HVAC), and Electrical Raceway.
Each module contributes to a 3D model from which all
documentation and reports are generated, ensuring accuracy and
consistency. Interference-checking helps avoid costly construction
changes and extensive catalogs of component dimensions are
provided.

P&ID
Part number SE**01238. Intergraph's P&ID application simplifies
production of piping and instrumentation diagrams and reports.
P&ID is integrated with Intergraph's complete Plant Design System
(PDS). The P&ID software integrates graphics with powerful
relational databases to provide full engineering verification and
reporting. An extensive reference database includes typical P&ID
components encompassing international standards and textual
descriptions. Designs are automatically checked as information is
stored in the database. Errors are marked on diagrams and messages
alert designers of inaccuracies. P&ID provides advanced graphics
capabilities, such as intelligent connectivity, automatic component
insertion, labeling, and rubberbanding. All reports are easily
customized.

P&ID Assistant
P&ID Assistant speeds up the process of creating P&ID drawings. It
contains a complete cell library of P&ID symbols - when you place
a cell on a pipe line, P&ID Assistant automatically snaps the cell to
the line, rotates it to the angle of the line, and cuts the line
underneath the cell. You can drag the cell up and down the pipe to
place it exactly where you want it. If you delete a cell that was placed
with P&ID Assistant, the cut is closed automatically. P&ID Assistant
is written in MDL. Cells are selected using buttons in dialog boxes.
