  14. BImodem PRO version 3.3 (PAMPA)- Made in the Argentine Republic.

  17. Commands, Functions & differences with bimodem v1.24.
  18. ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────

  20. Before anything, you must get the complete bimodem package, doing that
  21. you will obtain the complete DOCs and the rest of the support file that
  22. are not within PAMPA package. The just replace BIMODEM.COM with this new
  23. release and your ready to experience the most advanced protocol of the
  24. world.
  25. Copy all the PAMPA files over the older ones, then, run BIPROCFG.EXE and
  26. configure PAMPA as you like.

  29. New Stuff:
  30.  
  31. -Simultaneous remote/local chat capture.
  32. -The rutines in charge of the capture file were totally rewritten.
  33. -TIMEOUT timer is resetted when a 'FILE NOT FOUND' msg from remote is rcv.
  34. -F3: Dir.
  35. -Timers: Until BImodem PRO 3.1, CPS where incremented by 1.5625%. Now
  36.         the shown CPS are the real ones.
  37.          The actual transfer time, the estimate time and time left are
  38.         all represented on-screen.
  39. -F1: Help/Functions (ALT/M Not working anymore).
  40. -/K: Command-line Switch. Starts PAMPA session with the Screen Saver
  41.     in Smart mode.
  42. -/X: Command-line Switch. When PAMPA starts the screen is tottaly erased,
  43.     and restored when session ends.

  45. PCV.EXE (Pampa Chat Viewer): PCV [capture archive]

  47.  Just execute PCV and the program will show the capture file. You can
  48. especify an alternative capture file.

  51. Functions:
  52.  
  53. -Alt-0: Activates End Of Transfer ALARM.
  54. -PgDn:  Request archives from remote.
  55. -PgUp:  Send archives to remote.
  56. -Alt-S: Aborts the current archive (SEND).
  57. -Alt-R: Aborts the current archive (RECEIVE).
  58. -Alt-V: Always Verify the file after each transfer.
  59. -Esc:   Press 3 times in chat mode to abort.
  60. -Alt-Q: Silence Mode, no sounds will be made.
  61. -Alt-D: Original Time Stamp / Current
  62. -Alt-T: Time Limit Check / No Limit
  63. -Alt-Y: Accept/Deny remote requests.
  64. -Alt-A: (á) Espanish.
  65. -Alt-E: (é) Espanish.
  66. -Alt-I: (í) Espanish.
  67. -Alt-O: (ó) Espanish.
  68. -Alt-U: (ú) Espanish.
  69. -Alt-N: (ñ) Espanish.
  70. -Alt-Z: Chat time on / Chat Time Off.
  71. -   F1: Shows PAMPA functions on line.
  72. -Alt-G: Automatic remote page.
  73.         By pressing it once, a chat trackin function is activated,
  74.         whe remote touches a key, local PAMPA will call.
  75.         By pressing it twice, the remote paging is activated.
  76. -Alt-K: Screen Saver for VGA.
  77.         By pressing it once, Smart mode is activated, the screen will only
  78.          be updated when an event happens (errors, file starts, etc). After
  79.          a few seconds of inactivity the screen will became blank.
  80.         By pressing it twice the screen will be blanked till alt-K is pressed
  81.          again.
  82. -Alt-L: Keyboard Locking. You must set the password in BIprocfg.
  83. -Alt-C: Open / Close capture file.
  84. -Alt-H: Drop Carrier when transfer ends.
  85. -Alt-J: Drop Carrier if remote doesn't send file for 30 secs.
  86. -Alt-B: Max Byte On / Max byte Off
  87. -Alt-P: Permanent Chat Enabled.
  88. -   F3: Dir. Enter the file mask. You can scroll the dir with the arrow keys.

  91. Differences from v1.24:
  92.  
  93. -More information regarding the transfer is shown on screen.
  94. -The global timer starts when PAMPA receives the remote ID.
  95. -The execution time is acelerated from earlier versions.
  96. -When a session begins, PAMPA will wait 10 secs till abort.
  97. -Total number of files and Total number of files that were tranferred OK
  98.  counters where added.
  99. -The actual Block size is shown on-screen.
  100. -TimeOuts were set to larger delays for high speed modem that were doing
  101.  retrains.
  102. -Disk Reset al terminar la sesión de BImodem PRO (PAMPA).
  103. -Disk Reset when PAMPA ends.
  104. -/0|/3 New command line options.
  105.       /3: A 3 seconds alarm will sound when PAMPA ends.
  106.       /0: A permanent alarm will sound when PAMPA ends.

  113. -Baud setting in BICONFIG is ignored. During a session actual CPS will be
  114.  calculated.

  118. BIprocfg.exe: Program that configures the extra options in PAMPA.
  119.               Beginning in v3.3 the extra configuration will be found in a
  120.               file called BIMPRO.CFG, this file must reside in the same
  121.               directory with BImodem.com (PAMPA).
  122.               If the file BIMPRO.CFG is not found, BIprocfg will create a
  123.               new one. Future releases will update the cfg as nedeed.

  125.   Use:     Just execute BIprocfg. The program will search for BImodem.com
  126.           and BImpro.cfg, if BImpro.cfg is not found, a new one will be
  127.           created.
  128.           Once inside you will be at the main menu, there you will have
  129.           2 choices, "General CFG" & "Color CFG", the program has mouse
  130.           support if a driver is loaded.
  131.           BIprocfg has a built in help accesed by pressing F1

  163. WHY BImodem PRO?
  164.  
  165.  The last official release of Bimodem is 1.24, it is almost 3 years old,
  166. 1 year ago the idea of building something like Bimodem came to me, but,
  167. i wanted to make it better, so, here it is, a Bimodem 1.24 compatible
  168. protocol, but with hundreds of features added, a protocol thats just
  169. the best, it is PAMPA.

  173. Legal Aspect:
  174.               In no way PAMPA is a Bimodem 1.24 hack, PAMPA it is a
  175.              newly developed program from scratch.
  176.               The software is FREEWARE, it must be distributed in a freely
  177.              way.
  178.               I should not be responsible for any problems that PAMPA can
  179.              cause you, the software is distributed as it is.

  184.            The protocol is distributed free, if anyone has selled this
  185.           soft to you, you have been victim of a fraud.
  186.            The cardware idea is that the PAMPA users from all over the
  187.           world mail a postcard from your hometown as a symbol of support
  188.           you can send comentaries, ideas, salutes, etc. Come on! show
  189.           your support for the best protocol you can never BUY!
