  7.      SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  10.      512K RAM, Hard Disk, Any Monitor
  11.      DOS 3.3 or greater
  12.  
  13.      NEW INSTALLATION PROGRAM
  14.      ------------------------

  16.      If you downloaded this program from a BBS, you may bypass
  17.      the INSTALL.EXE and just run the EP40.EXE file.
  18.  
  19.      Use INSTALL.EXE to install the system to your hard disk.
  20.      Just enter the drive and path for Easy Project.  All necessary
  21.      files will be copied and unpacked.
  22.  
  23.      Please make sure you have a CONFIG.SYS file in your root directory
  24.      that has a FILES=25 statement.  This is the minimum value to be used.

  27.      Use the EP.BAT file to start Easy Project or place the following
  28.      command in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
  29.           SET CLIPPER=F030;E0;

  31.      UPGRADING FROM A PRIOR (4.x) VERSION
  32.      ------------------------------

  34.      Copy the new EPX.EXE file to your system - there's no change
  35.      to the data structures.

  37.      UPGRADING FROM A PRIOR (3.x) VERSION
  38.      ------------------------------

  40.      Follow the normal installation instructions being sure to install
  41.      Easy Project in a new subdirectory (i.e. \EP40).

  43.      To update the system with your old data, follow the instructions
  44.      in the user manual.

  46.      NOTE:  Only files from a 3.X version will be converted.  There is no
  47.      utility provided to convert data from a version prior to 3.0. (1989)

  63.      EXPANDED/EXTENDED MEMORY USERS

  66. If your system has conflicts between Easy Project and extended/expanded memory,
  67. this may appear as an OPEN ERROR (0) problem.  If you get this message,
  68. or an out of memory message, try issuing the DOS SET command:

  70.           SET CLIPPER=V010;E000;R032;F030;

  73.     LAPTOP OWNERS
  74.     -------------

  76.     Easy Project may detect what it interprets as a color
  77.     monitor on some laptops.  Better results may be ontained if
  78.     the monochrome option is chosen from the system configuration
  79.     screen (Utilites Menu).

  82.     DROPING TO DOS/BACKUPS/RESTORE NOTES
  83.     ------------------------------------

  85.     The Backup and Restore options all drop to DOS and execute
  86.     from the DOS prompt.  Depending on the size of your projects, you
  87.     may experience an error message stating you do not have enough
  88.     memory.  Try exiting Easy Project and executing the Backup or
  89.     Restore functions first before retrieving any projects.

  92.     OUT OF ENVIRONMENT ERRORS
  93.     -------------------------

  95.     If during the Easy Project start up routine, a message flashes
  96.     (from DOS) stating you are out of environment space, add the
  97.     following line to your CONFIG.SYS file then re-boot your PC:

  99.          SHELL=COMMAND.COM /p /e:512

  101.     Consult your DOS manual for further uses of this command.
