This is the README.DOC file for dJOURNAL (C) Copyright 1991, D.S. Williamson
This is the limited SHAREWARE version of dJOURNAL. If you find it useful and
want to upgrade to the full featured version - PLEASE REGISTER. Use the order
form included in the file ORDER.FRM.
PRINTING THE MANUAL AND ORDER FORM:
To print the order form, at the DOS prompt type: PRINT ORDER.FRM
To print the manual, at the DOS prompt type: PRINT SMANUAL.DOC
To view on screen, at the DOS prompt type: TYPE SMANUAL.DOC | MORE
BEFORE INSTALLING: Please note that dJOURNAL is a dual system using both DOS
Commands and executable programs to run. In order to function on your computer,
your CONFIG.SYS file must have the following minimum statements:
FILES=20
BUFFERS=8
Also, DOS COMSPEC must contain the path name where a version of command.com
is present. This is usually the default condition of your computer.
MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS: IBM XT,AT or compatible, 640K, Hard Drive, DOS 2.0 or
greater.
TO INSTALL NEW SYSTEM: Copy all the files from the dJOURNAL disk into a
directory you have created for dJOURNAL on your hard drive. Or, insert the
dJOURNAL disk into the floppy A drive and use the INSTALL.BAT file to
automatically create a directory on the C drive named dJOURNAL and to copy
all the files into it for you. Type: A:INSTALL
TO RUN: Make the directory containing dJOURNAL the current directory.
At the DOS prompt type: dJOURNAL
PURPOSE: dJOURNAL has been developed primarily to provide computer users with
a program to assist them in journalizing information. Examples include:
Personal Journals, Business Logs, Employee Profiles, Program Source Code
and Documentation, Reference Cards, Catalogs Of Data Files, etc, etc.

DJOURNAL.EXE - Main program
JCONFIG.DBF - Configuration data base for system
FILEDBF.DBF - Data base of journal configurations
JRHELP.DB* - HELP data base
SAMPLE.DB* - Personal journal data base
README.DOC - Readme file for dJOURNAL
INSTALL.BAT - Installs from A: drive to C:\DJOURNAL directory
INSTALL.MSG - Installation message
ORDER.FRM - Order form to help you register
SMANUAL.DOC - SHAREWARE version of Manual for dJOURNAL 1.0 (29 pages)
