authors of these programs should take a closer look at the
AVATAR/0+ specs)
--- 0.46 BETA 19-Feb-92

o The status line is now 2 lines wide and displays the type of
multitasker if one is detected.
o It is now possible to configure a maximum number of days to wait
for a player to do his next move. If this time expires, the game
will be either deleted or the player looses the game.
This is also configurable. See PCHESS.CFG for details.
o To prevent ProChess from deleting/loosing expired games, it is
possible to 'hold' selected games using the HOLD.EXE program.
It creates a dummy file of the format HOLD####. The program
UNHOLD.EXE is used to remove the Hold-files again.
o Several small bugfixes have been made.

See PCHESS.CFG
--- 1.08 BETA 17-Nov-92
o Online players can now choose if they want to start a game
against a specific player. The necessary textlines have been
appended to PCHESS.CFG. The player may be a user of the same
system or on a different system which is connected via PCUTIL.
Of course, the latter is a registered-only feature, since
PCUTIL only works on registered systems. The Sysop may disable
this feature, e.g. if he has not installed PCUTIL.
--- 1.10 18-Nov-92
o Next major release
--- 1.11 BETA 01-Dec-92

o Fixed a small bug in the Chess logic
o Made the percentage values in the score table more accurate
o Now supports USERON by Gerhard Hoogterp (only in RA environments)
o Pawn promotion didn't work if the two players set up different
characters for their pieces. The error only occured when playing
with PCTERM or via PCUTIL. E.g. if one player used 'Q' for a queen
and the other player 'D' (German: Dame) the other system wouldn't
recognize the pawn promotion and the whole game would be confused.
o PCTERM-users couldn't do pawn promotion at all. Fixed.
o Games can now be selected from the Board menu. Just type in the number.
o Users can download the archive file of PCTERM from the opening menu by
pressing the letter 'D'
o Fixed a bug that would cause ProChess to exit immediately when
a PCTERM user started a new game, without selecting an existing
game before.
o A Bulletin screen may now be displayed after the first menu selection.
Just create BULLETIN.ANS/ASC/AVT and put them in your ProChess dir.
o Added support for one-line messages that may be exchanged between
ProChess players. This features also works with PCTERM and PCUTIL.
--- 1.12 BETA 03-Feb-93
o Added new menu option to main menu: Online users can list the available
remote players, listed in PCHESS.NOD.
o Changed the structure of PCHESS.CFG, please update your file!
--- 1.20 01-Mar-93
o Next major release
o DSZ errors are now logged to PCHESS.LOG for debugging purposes
--- 1.21 11-Mar-93
o In unregistered mode there was a nasty bug that did (or didn't) allow
users to start more than two games, resulting in termination of ProChess.
Sorry, but I missed that bug, since I always run ProChess in registered
mode. :-)
o The Sysop may now shell to DOS using the ALT-J key. The Sysop's screen
is restored after the DOS shell. However, the user won't notice anything.
