TOUR is an online door program designed specifically for RemoteAccess* and
QuickBBS* Bulletin Board Systems. The program specifically looks for a
RemoteAccess or QuickBBS style DORINFO1.DEF files. The program uses an
installed FOSSIL driver for all communications and utilizes the Motor City
Software JPDoor 3.20SE door library.
TOURN is a program that gathers caller information as well as time banked
using RemoteAccess TimeBank System (C) Motor City Software and compiles a
list of user tournament scores. That is to say that it makes competition
out of using the system.
TOURN compiles the all information that is used to determine the users
tournament score by using the following equation:
TOUR.DOC (C) 1990-92 BY MOTOR CITY SOFTWARE PAGE: 2
(Introduction Continue:)
Time_in_bank + #_of_calls + #_of_posts + #_of_u/l's + #_of_d/l's
So if someone has:
1000 minutes in RATS
5 calls to system
5 messages posted
+ 5 uploads
-----
1015 subtotal
+ 5 downloads NOTE: You may add NEGATIVE point for downloads
----- if you wish.
1010 total score
Now to add a new twist. The Sysop may specify the points awarded/subtracted
values for each field. TOURN looks at the TOURCFG.DAT file (Created by
TourCfg.exe) to determin the values. If no parameters are received, then all
fields have a value of 1.
TIMEBANK value that for every 5 minutes that a user has in RATS
1 point will be awarded towards their score.
POSTED value that each message posted awards 5 points
CALLED value that each call to the system awards 5 points
UPLOAD value that each upload to the system awards 10 points
DOWNLOAD value that each download from the system ADDS (Or Subtracts
if you used a negative number) 25 points.
It's pretty tough to find anything to do with a user's time banked these days.
I noticed several users accumulating mass amounts of time in their accounts
with nothing to do with it. Well, now if anything, it can count towards their
TOUR score.
This program will work on multiline systems as well as single line systems.
A configuration file Tour##.CFG is Required for all nodes in the multiline
configuration.

Tour is a easy utility to install. It allows the SysOp to customize the
output files, and paths for each node. Additionally full color configuration
can be handled, for on Screen and Text File writing.
This is done through the use of the Tour Config program, TourCFG.EXE.
This utility creates a few configuration files which the game program looks
for at program startup. These files are:
Tour##.CFG (Each node has one where the ## is the node number 01 and up.)
Tour.CLR (This file contains the color configuration for Tour and it's
output files.)
TourCFG.CLR (This is a color configuration file for TourCFG.EXE.)
TourCfg.DAT (This is the Master Configuration File for Tourament.)
To use the setup utility, change to the directory containing the Tour files
and enter the command TourCFG. A Default Node 01 will be created and may
be edited by displayed default prompts. Once TourCFG.EXE has been
executed, Tour can be run in the BBS system directory or in any directory
of its own.

Tour looks for a command line switch to select what your node prompt is,
and the name of the node configuration file. The batch file examples below
show how these command line parameters might be used.
an example, of how you might call Tour as a type 7 which in turn calls a
batch file:
Type 7 command line:
*C /c \QBBS\Tour.BAT *N
;Tour.BAT:
C:
If '%1'=='2' goto node2
If '%1'=='3' goto node3
CD\GAMES\DOOR
Tour.EXE -C Tour01.CFG
goto fini
:node2
CD\GAMES\DOOR
Tour.EXE -C Tour02.CFG
goto fini
:node3
CD\GAMES\DOOR
Tour.EXE -C Tour03.CFG
:fini
CD\QBBS

The Actual Door operation is controlled from the Config files you have
created from TourCfg.Exe.
Additionally if the colors you have chosen for the Door (or Default colors)
do not look proper, Just change them in the TourCfg.Exe.
