This is unlike any other battleship door you have ever set up for your
system!
Now your users can play head-to-head against another user, or even you,
in Real-Time. No more waiting until the other player has called back
and made his move. Games are over in minutes rather than weeks...
Players can send short messages to one another while playing, and even
receive online messages from users on other nodes, then reply to them
right in the middle of a game!
If you play in local mode, against a remote user, you will not be permitted
to see his screen during game play. This means that you cannot cheat!
Playing is simple, after all, who doesn't already know how to play
battle ships! For full game play documentation, see the BSHIP.HLP file.
If you wish to keep track of winners, then you may have the door post a
message into your RA/QBBS message base. There are no internal files used
to keep track of scores.
All Message Base writes are done using proper file locking, as is all
other file i/o.
I suggest you set up a message base just for Door Scores, as all of our
products will soon have this option, and you can have them all post to
the same message base.

Motor City Battle Ships runs great as a type 7 door on RemoteAccess V1.xx
or QBBS V2.75
If you are running on a QuickBBS 2.75 then you MUST supply a /Q on the
commandline. If you don't, it will use RA structures, and crash on you every
time!
You MUST be running a multi-node system to use this door, although if you
run on a Lan or with a multi-tasker, you can easily run a second Local
node.
Battle Ships uses a file called JPDOOR.USE, created in your system directory.
You must have SET RA=<path to system dir> set in a batch file if you are
running RemoteAccess, or SET QUICK=<path to system dir> for QBBS.
If BattleShips tells a player there are already two people playing, and you
know thats not true, simply delete the JPDOOR.USE file from the system
directory.
Begin by unzipping this archive in a directory of its own, and create batch
files for each node. There are 4 command line parameters, but only one is
needed.
These are:
BSHIP D:\RA\NODE01\ Path to Dorinfo1.Def (MUST be first Parameter)
If you wish to have Battle Ships post a message to one of your
message bases announcing the winner, then you must supply two
more parameters.
/M - Path to message base files
Example: /MD:\RA\MSGBASE\
/B - Message Board Number
Example: /B2
/Q - Run in QBBS mode (Defaults to RemoteAccess)
Sample Batch Files....
BSHIP.BAT:
Cd \RA\DOORS\BSHIP
BSHIP D:\RA\ /MD:\RA\MSGBASE /B2
Cd \RA
That's all there is to installing the Battle Ship door. There is no
setup program needed.
