  12.                               IMPORTANT CHANGES!!!
  13.  
  14.     This is WEATHER v1.15 - there have been some fairly major modifications
  15.     in this release that allow WEATHER to use several new features...please
  16.     reconfigure WEATHER before operation to take advantage of these new
  17.     features.  Re-configuration is not necessary - but highly desirable.
  18.  
  19.     WEATHER now uses WCONFIG.EXE to configure the WEATHER program.  If
  20.     WEATHER is run with the CONFIG option which operated previously, you
  21.     are informed that you can reconfigure WEATHER by running WCONFIG.EXE.
  22.  
  23.     WEATHER.CFG is a simple ASCII text file - you can edit WEATHER.CFG with
  24.     any editor capable of saving straight ASCII text.  Do not use word
  25.     processing packages that save special characters in the text.
  26.  
  27.     The HEADER and FOOTER are included in two new files - WEATHER.HDR and
  28.     WEATHER.FTR - which are (again) ASCII text files that can be edited
  29.     with any text editor.

  31.     Also included with this version of WEATHER is a set of files - ANSI
  32.     and RIP screens which the System Operator of Atlanta Information
  33.     Exchange [404-957-3325] was kind enough to create and donate!
  34.  
  35.     New changes to WEATHER include:
  36.  
  37.       (Changes in 1.15)
  38.  
  39.       *  Added SEVERE WEATHER REPORT.  This report is not currently being
  40.          upper/lowercased - due to the fact that we have been unable to
  41.          obtain any severe weather reports as of this date.  As soon as
  42.          they are available (in other words, when we have some bad weather
  43.          in Charlotte, NC), we will update the "aesthetics" of the
  44.          Severe Weather Report.
  45.  
  46.       *  Added ZONE WEATHER REPORT.  Several users had been asking for both
  47.          the Severe Weather and the Zone Weather reports...so they are now
  48.          made available - just going to show you that we ARE responsive
  49.          to customer demand...   :)
  50.  
  51.       *  Created WCONFIG.EXE - rather than configuring WEATHER through the
  52.          CONFIG option previously available to users of WEATHER, WCONFIG
  53.          allows WEATHER to take up less memory when running - a concern
  54.          with some BBSes.  When WEATHER.EXE is run with the CONFIG option,
  55.          the user is prompted to run WCONFIG.EXE to configure WEATHER.

  57.       *  Fixed occasional lockup users would encounter when processing
  58.          weather text.

  60.       (Changes in 1.14b)
  61.  
  62.       *  DIGIboard support.  WEATHER supports 4, 8, and 16-port versions
  63.          of the DIGIboard.  Testing has not been extensive...so if anyone
  64.          finds errors with the way WEATHER uses the DIGIboard - as always,
  65.          please let us know so that we may remedy the situation.  WEATHER
  66.          has been tested exhaustively on a *4-port* version...so we assume
  67.          that it will work with the others.  :)

  69.       *  Seperate files for the HEADER and FOOTER.  This allows people to
  70.          design their headers and footers in ANSI/RIP drawing packages...
  71.          The option to enter text is still available in the CONFIG option.
  72.  
  73.       *  Extended memory is now taken advantage of.  Previously, all of
  74.          WEATHER's operations were conducted in CONVENTIONAL memory.
  75.          Memory requirements are also less.  WEATHER can run in a 400k
  76.          window under Desqview, with absolutely no extended memory
  77.          allocated to the window.
  78.  
  79.       *  Option to hold DTR HIGH upon exit of WEATHER.  Due to user
  80.          requests, we have added the ability to have WEATHER keep the
  81.          DTR signal on the modem HIGH during text processing and returning
  82.          to the calling program...  This ensures that callers trying to
  83.          call in to the system while WEATHER is running *should* always
  84.          get a BUSY signal versus a NO ANSWER.  This option *IS*
  85.          configurable.

  87.       *  Raised the number of sites to download information about at
  88.          one time to 10 locations.  Now fixed so that users actually
  89.          DOWNLOAD 10 sites after tagging 10 sites in the CONFIG option.

  91.       *  GSO (Greensboro, NC) and AVP (Avoca, PA) was added to the
  92.          Airport Location file (WEATHER.LOC)...next release will
  93.          include a more comprehensive listing of valid airport codes.
  94.  
  95.       *  EWR (Newark, NJ) added - Newark users should appreciate this.
  96.  
  97.       *  New York City has been fixed so that it downloads weather
  98.          properly.
  99.  
  100.       *  Added a TIMER function that allows the user to specify a longer
  101.          period of time to stay online in case of downloading more
  102.          locations.  Maximum time allowed is 30 minutes.  NOTE:  the
  103.          default of 10 minutes IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
