Bug Fix/Feature List Report For BNP. 19 February, 1994
BNP v6.72. Copyright (C) 1994 Nathan Moschkin
Recompiled under Microsoft C++ v7.00
Recompiled under Borland C++ v3.10
Release Version 6.72. Hatched through SDS:SoftDist.
Bugs Fixed in v6.71Wß0213
--------------------------
Fixed the part where it's supposed to pack up outbound packets,
but kinda doesn't.
Fixed whole bunches of stuff that I found after I fixed that problem.
NO NEW FEATURES
--------------------------
Bugs Fixed in v6.70Wß0209
--------------------------
Fixed the NULL pointer (R6001) in the Mircrosoft version. No
gaurantees that the Borland version will work at all.
Also cleaned up the code much, and reduced the size of the code.
New Features in v6.70Wß0209
---------------------------
Added DOMAIN support! FINALLY!
in the "PktType 2.2" command line, add " DOMAIN" (e.g)
PktType 2.2 Domain
Domains do not need to end in ".org" since this part is
automatically removed.
New command! - MAXSIZE
MaxSize 16384 (default)
specifies the maximum size that the message text may be.
JAM is on its way damn it!
Bugs Fixed in v6.42.Wß1221
---------------------------
I can't even remember. But it's compiled under two different
compilers, so please, try it and see what happens.
New Features in v6.45.Wß1221
----------------------------
None. (I don't think)
----------------------------------------------------------------
Bugs Fixed in v6.00.B1009
---------------------------
Ugh! Trying still to fix some stuff. Cleaned the code up.
Hopefully it won't freeze any more.
New Features in v6.00.B0912
---------------------------
None.
Bugs Fixed in v6.00.B0912
---------------------------
HOPEFULLY fixed those Exception 13 bugs and the occasional
freezing. Keep your fingers crossed!
New Features in v6.00.B0906
---------------------------
Now frees up 64K of memory before calling any bundlers.
Bugs Fixed in v6.00.B0906
---------------------------
Memory was being gobbled up and some Exception #13 errors
were occuring. I fixed this by transferring all the data from
the message buffer into the outbound all at once. This should
cure all of our problems. If it doesn't, sue me.
New Features in v6.00.B0828
---------------------------
Added the command-line option "/BASHBSY".
This will cause BNP to not only IGNORE .BSY flags, but
clear every single one of them as well.
Coming sometime in September. JAM message base support.
Bug Fixes in v6.00.B0828
---------------------------
Fixed a MAJOR bug wherein BNP kept giving Exception #13's. This
was due to a small farmalloc() error, and has been corrected.
Also fixed some minor bugs dealing with message handling and
where the message would sometimes be grunged.
New Features in v6.00.B0816
---------------------------
Added RegistrationKey support. This is to prevent any more of my
betas travelling around and being used.
Be sure to install your keys. It will not work without the proper
key. If you've lost your key. Just send me a message.
I will also be releasing a commercial version of the program.
I'm working on a full-screen setup program for the thing.
I am coordinating with Jonathan Hulley-Miller on adding NETMAIL
TRACKER utilities. This would make BNP both an outbound AND
inbound mail processor. Further assistance would be appreciated.
Bug Fixes in v6.00.B0816
---------------------------
Some VIA line bugs fixed.
Some FILE ATTACH bugs fixed.
One bug still remains in that it is appending the directory to the
message of an outbound file attach message. Almost fixed.
New Features in v6.00.B0731
---------------------------
Now the code works a little.
Added a summary display at the end of the run.
The code is now modularized and takes less memory.
Bug Fixes in v6.00.B0731
---------------------------
.BSY flag bugs fixed.
A few cosmetic bugs fixed.
New Features in v6.00.B0730
---------------------------
Bug Fixes in v6.00.B0730
---------------------------
This release uses more efficient code generation techniques.
I may have fixed some bugs, but if I did, I forgot.
New Features in v6.00.B0727
---------------------------
Bug Fixes in v6.00.B0727
---------------------------
.BSY flags works right.
The ^AVia problem with extra CR-LF's is fixed.
The point packet naming convention is fixed.
New Features in v6.00.B0722
---------------------------
Added the "DwarZ" option to the KILLNULL parameter.
Now compile two versions, the BNP.EXE, and the BNP386.EXE.
Bug Fixes in v6.00.B0722
---------------------------
Fixed the KILLNULL option so it actually worked.
Fixed bugs in recognizing the KFS, TFS and all the FLAGS options
Fixed several small bugs in the routing code. Now displays the
priority correctly. Also now displays whether or not the message
was killed.
Now will properly scan and process the KFS and TFS and prefix a
"^" or a "#" symbol correctly.
New Features in v6.00.B0716
---------------------------
None
Bug Fixes in v6.00.B0716
---------------------------
Fixed point directory "oopsies" in the NoBundle routines
New Features in v6.00.B0702
---------------------------
Now you can specify a '!' before an address on any verb line, and
it will stand to mean EXCEPT, or NOT. Example:
NoBundle 1:109/* !400 !40
Will NoBundle to all nodes in net 109 except for 40 and 400.
May still be buggy, I am working on it.
Bug Fixes in v6.00.B0702
---------------------------
Many little bugs fixed when it would create directories wierdly
or do some repetitive things with the .OUT files in NoBundle mode.
They are fixed. Some other bugs with the .FLO files not being
found were also fixed.
New Features in v6.00.B0629
---------------------------
Now allowed to have up to 100 Akas, and 1 main address.
(5D addressing fully supported, coming soon!)
Bug Fixes in v6.00.B0629
---------------------------
Fixed a MASSIVE bunch of bugs that sometimes resulted in
00000000.DLO files to be created. Also fixed a disappearing
semaphore flag bug. Fixed some routing bugs.
New Features in v6.00.B0628
---------------------------
None
Bug Fixes in v6.00.B0628
---------------------------
Fixed some major bugs in the ^AVIA line generation. Also optimized
some small things. Decreased executable size, then increased it
again. The headers were sometimes getting GARBLED. I fixed that.
New Features in v5.51.B0617
---------------------------
None
Bug Fixes in v5.51.B0617
---------------------------
More of that wonderful NoBundle code fixed. Also made some
cosmetic fixes. This SHOULD work for every one, included is that
small bug wherein it routes correctly, however it doesn't display
it correctly.
Notice! I am going to chop this thing into the gamma stage
soon as SOON AS I GET an okay from every one of you, so send me
messages in the conference.
New Features in v5.50.B0615
---------------------------
Changed the format of the NETMAIL Path specifiers.
Netmail Squish D:\Max\Msg\Net
Netmail FTSC D:\Mail\Netmail\ [D:\Mail\MsgRead\]
Netmail D:\Mail\Netmail\ [D:\Mail\MsgRead\]
Options in [] are optional, which specify an offline directory
to move messages to, if they have been Sent/Received. This option
is considered disabled if it is not present on the NETMAIL line.
The keywords "FTSC" and "SQUISH" are required. However, an
emergency backup feature in BNP has been built-in to make sense
out of lines without those keywords.
NOTE! "FTSC" and "SQUISH" go BEFORE the pathnames now!
Bug Fixes in v5.50.B0615
---------------------------
Fixed a HUGE bug in the routing code that made routing normal
with nobundle enabled impossible. All routing now works as it
should. Thanks to Ryan Murray for pointing this one out.
