This READ.ME file provides brief information on how to install the SPfocus
display list driver for SPIRIT 4.5, how to configure SPIRIT for use with
SPEA graphics boards, and how to load the resident driver and remove it
from memory.
More detailed information may be found in the user's manuals provided with
the SPEA graphics boards, and in the SPfocus User's Manual.
SPfocus drivers - are available for all SPEA Graphiti graphics boards
- support SPIRIT Version 4.5
- and are exclusively distributed by Soft-Tech.

: Driver Installation :
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM<
The SPEA graphics board, hardware and GDC basic software as well as SPIRIT
must have been installed before the SPfocus driver can be installed. The en-
vironment variable GDC (see also SPEA Software Manual) must be set.
Proceed as follows to install the SPfocus driver software :
Insert the SPfocus driver disk into the disk drive
Change to the disk drive and enter
INSTALL
You will be asked to specify the directory the SPfocus driver shall be
copied to (default is C:\SPEA\GDC) and the SPIRIT logon directory (usually
C:\LOGON).
Then select the SPEA board for which the SPfocus driver software shall
be installed.
The driver software will now be copied to the specified directories.

The INSTALL program will automatically check the firmware revision
installed on these boards and copy the most current firmware versions
to the \SPEA\GDC directory, if necessary.
The onboard firmware may then be updated using the commands
FGAPROM BOOT respectively FGAPROM BOOT2 or
HIPROM HIBOOT respectively HIPROM HI1024
(Please refer to the SPEA User's Manuals for more detailed information
on how to update the onboard firmware.)

To configure SPIRIT for the SPEA driver, change to the directory C:\MTEC
and run the SPIRIT configuration program CONFIG. Select the SPEA driver.
Then change to the directory the SPfocus driver has been copied to and run
the SPfocus configuration utility SPCONF. Options in SPCONF may be selected
using the mouse or cursor keys.
The parameters "display list size and location", "interrupt number", "hot
key" to call SPfocus functions when working in SPIRIT, and "Font Size"
may be defined.

: HiLite/FIRE :

Please note : SPCONF always uses Video Mode 0 available for the selected
monitor ; it does not use the video mode selected with HIMODE / 860MODE.
Another video mode in wich SPCONF runs can be selected with:
