  24. 1) BigFocus / DoubleScreen  DOS  - what is that?
  25. ================================================

  27. BigFocus is SPEA's extensive function driver for AutoCAD 12 and 13 (DOS).
  28.  
  29. The BigFocus driver for DOS do not  contain 3D functionality.
  30. If you are interested in purchasing the full version then please refer
  31. to your distributor and ask him for the product
  32.         " DoubleScreen  DOS "
  33. This software package is a double screen package for V7-STORM PRO PCI/VL
  34. and the V7-MIRAGE P-64  or 2x V7-MERCURY P64 boards and includes the 3D
  35. functionality .

  37. 2) Requirements:
  38. ================
  39.  This driver supports the following boards: Graphiti FGA and HiLite in
  40.  single screen.

  43.   Monitor Type

  45.   This version of BigFocus is exclusively for use with multiscan
  46.   monitors.

  49. 3) What's new?
  50. ==============
  51.     - Online help
  52.     The online help for AutoCAD 12 (DOS) has been revised with
  53.     information concerning the latest changes. The online help for
  54.     AutoCAD 13 (DOS) has also been created and updated.
  55.  
  56.   - New: Fit button in the Birds-Eye View window (BEV)
  57.     This button shows the exact location in the BEV, even if a very small
  58.     zoom area has been selected with the mouse. A click on the BEV returns
  59.     to the original view. Check the online help for details!
  60.  
  61.   - Text window display output has been accelerated (up to 50%)
  62.  
  63.   - Antialiasing
  64.     This function is currently not available.
  65.  
  66.   - New: #LIST
  67.     This command can be seen as an extension of the AutoCAD _LIST
  68.     command. When called it executes _LIST and subsequently _GRAPHSCR.
  69.     This enables you to automatically return to the drawing after using
  70.     the _LIST command in the text window.

  72.   - AutoCAD command 'MULTIPLE'
  73.     Not a new feature, but a common cause of problems which is often
  74.     overseen. If you use the AutoCAD MULTIPLE command do NOT move or
  75.     use any of the SPEA icon menus unil you have completed the AutoCAD
  76.     command! Doing so may cause your system to hang (for reasons which
  77.     SPEA has no influence over).

  79.   - SPEACONFIG (Hotkey)
  80.     Doubleclick assignments (mouse) are no longer supported!

  82.   - Dual screen configurations with SPEA V7 boards: as of now, SPEA
  83.     supplies two 'SPEA DoubleScreen' packages:
  84.     (a) SPEA DoubleScreen DOS/Win
  85.     (b) SPEA DoubleScreen DOS

  87.     Package (a) contains two V7-MERCURY P-64 boards and the software
  88.     necessary to run this combination under AutoCAD DOS/Windows, Windows
  89.     and MicroStation.

  91.     Package (b) contains a V7-STORM PRO and a V7-MIRAGE P-64 as well as
  92.     the software necessary to run this combination under AutoCAD DOS.

  95. 4) Installing BigFocus for DOS:
  96. ===============================
  97.   1. Put the disk 'BigFocus' in drive A: and enter:
  98.         A:
  99.         INSTALL
  100.  
  101.      According to whether you are using Rel. 12 or 13 version of
  102.      AutoCAD make your selection and follow the instructions on the screen.
  103.  
  104.   2. At the end of the installation a file named RCSETUP.BAT is created in
  105.      your SPEA\GDC directory. This file sets the necessary environment
  106.      variable (SPEAPOP) needed by the BigFocus tools.
  107.      Call RCSETUP.BAT before you reconfigure AutoCAD itself.
  108.  
  109.   3. Start AutoCAD again and select the following driver when choosing
  110.      the display driver:
  111.  
  112.          SPEA FGA/HiLite ADI 4.2 Display/Rendering - by SPEA AG
  113.  
  114.     NOTE :
  115.     If you have already installed a version of BigFocus and are using
  116.     this installation as an update, then the position of the SPEA icons
  117.     will be different to the last position saved when you restart AutoCAD.

  119. 5)  Notes concerning your manual
  120. ================================
  121. Please note that the manual included with this software only describes
  122. the DOS version of BigFocus 12. Note that the Tutor window is no longer
  123. available!
  124.  
  125. NOTE: Before you configure your digitizer please enter on the command line:
  126.         #logo_off
  127.       and after configuration
  128.         #logo_on
  129.       to avoid conflicts with BigFocus.
  130.
