  5. Changes in version 2.1:

  7.  * All 32-bit self-extracting Zip files support Microsoft(R)
  8.    Authenticode(tm) technology.  In earlier versions, the
  9.    self-extracting Zip file's integrity check conflicted with
  10.    Authenticode.  (For information on Authenticode, visit the Microsoft
  11.    home page, click the "Search" button and search for "authenticode
  12.    code signing".)

  14.  * User-specified icons:  you can use an icon of your choice for all
  15.    types of self-extractors except "Compact" and "MS-DOS + Windows".
  16.    These icons are displayed in the Explorer (in version 2.0,
  17.    user-specified icons were only used in the dialog box of
  18.    self-extractors for software installation).

  20.  * While version 2.0 made it possible to build 32-bit self-extracting
  21.    Zip files, the program that created these 32-bit files was actually a
  22.    16-bit program.  A 32-bit version (wzipse32.exe) is now included.

  24.  * You can now create self-extracting Zip files that unzip
  25.    automatically.  (In version 2.0 the end-user had to specify /auto on
  26.    the command line while running the self-extracting file to unzip
  27.    automatically.)  Use this new feature with caution:  if you are
  28.    planning to post this file on the Internet or an online service like
  29.    CompuServe or AOL, you should be aware that some sysops refuse to
  30.    accept files that unzip without a prompt.

  32.  * The "Mail Self-Extracting Zip File:  button in the final wizard panel
  33.    makes it easy to send a self-extractor to another user by e-mail
  34.    (this feature is available only if your system supports MAPI, the
  35.    standard Mail Application Program Interface).

  37.  * Password support for all types of self-extractors except "Compact"
  38.    and "MS-DOS + Windows".

  42. WinZip Self-Extractor 2.0 is a superset of version 1.0.  Everything that
  43. worked with version 1.0 works the same way with 2.0, but new features
  44. are available, including:

  47.    * 32-bit Win32 headers
  48.    * 16-bit Windows headers with Windows 95 long filename support
  49.    * MS-DOS support (one EXE works on either MS-DOS or Windows)

  51.  * Improved automation and customization for software installation,
  52.    such as the ability to specify an icon and text for the main dialog
  53.    box, and to delete temporary files after running a setup program.
  54.    Includes support for Sterling Software's InstallShield SETUP program.
  55.  
  56.  * All versions can be created with English or German messages.

  58.  * Ability to automatically extract files when EXE file is run.
  59.  
  60.  * An optional progress meter while unzipping.

  62.  * An uninstall facility for the WinZip Self-Extractor package.
