Recently this lighting has been extended around the foreshore from Mrs Macquarie\'s Chair, through the Botanic Gardens, and around Circular Quay to The Rocks. The lamps are used all along Macquarie Street to Hyde Park.\r\rThey were especially designed by Hall, Todd and Littlemore, the architects for Stage Three of construction. Input was also provided by the G.E.C/Phillips Opera House Lighting Co. Pty.Ltd. \r\rThe original posts are made of bronze, while the recent additions are cast iron. Each post is topped with a large acrylic sphere, inside which sits the light bulb. A reflector is positioned so light from the bulb illuminates the whole sphere, giving it a glowing appearance.\r";
