  3. Overview
  4. ========
  5.  
  6.     G-Filer32 is a 32 bit Windows application designed to make sorting
  7.   graphic images as quick and easy as possible. Capable of viewing all
  8.   common file types, G-Filer32's intuitive screen layout and keyboard
  9.   optimization makes sorting 1000+ images an hour within easy reach.
  10.   Safeguards include deletion to the Windows recycle bin and an unmove
  11.   image feature. Images can be copied to the Windows clipboard, printed
  12.   with detailed image information, exported to a .Bmp file format and more.
  13.   Duplicate image handling based upon identical filename uses a side
  14.   by side layout of both images with options to keep/delete/rename file(s).

  16.     Images are moved to their final destination by utilizing an intelligent
  17.   user-defined database. This database contains fields for the directory
  18.   to move image(s) to and a description for this directory. An unlimited
  19.   number of target directories can be maintained in this high performance
  20.   database. By clicking on the description name in a scrolling list the
  21.   image is moved to it's final destination. G-Filer32 has a seek mechanism
  22.   to locate a description entry by typing the first few characters of the
  23.   description, making target directory location possible in under a
  24.   second!

  26.     This is the second iteration of the G-Filer concept for file management.
  27.   The initial G-Filer was a 16 bit application that quickly became popular
  28.   with shareware sites; well over 7000 downloads of the evaluation version
  29.   in it's first week were recorded. The 32 bit version (renamed G-Filer32)
  30.   incorporates over 40 new features and enhancements over the 16 bit
  31.   version that makes image viewing/sorting even faster and easier.

  33. Evaluation Limitations
  34. ======================
  35.     The evaluation version is identical to the registered version with the
  36.   following exceptions:
  37.  
  38.     1. The path database can contain only 5 entries (unlimited in the
  39.        registered version).
  40.     2. A popup message will appear occasionally when viewing images (removed
  41.        in the registered version).
  42.     3. The about window contains the word "DEMO"
  43.     4. The main window contains the phrase "Evaluation Copy"

  45. Installation
  46. ============
  47.     The setup routine for G-Filer32 will install all application files to
  48.   the C:\Gfiler32 directory by default. All runtime files are installed to
  49.   this directory. The windows registry is NOT modified by G-Filer32. In the
  50.   C:\Windows directory a file named Gfiler.Ini is created and maintained
  51.   by G-Filer32.

  53.     You may change the default drive/directory for G-Filer32; it is preferable
  54.   that the runtime .Dll files are kept in the same directory as Gfiler.Exe,
  55.   but can be manually moved to C:\Windows\System.

  80. System Requirements
  81. ===================
  82.     G-Filer32 requires Windows 95 to operate. It should work with Windows 98
  83.   and Windows NT 4.0 since they are 32 bit operating systems. A VGA card
  84.   capable of 800x600 mode is required. At least 8Mb of ram should be
  85.   installed.

  87. Purchase Information

  89.     Registration cost is payable by money order ONLY; the cost to use
  90.   G-Filer32 on a single computer is $20 if email registration is acceptable;
  91.   if a floppy diskette is desired/required the registration cost is $25.
