Y2K TEST
This utility will check your system for Year 2000 hardware compliance. When run from Windows 3.X/95 it will reboot your computer 3 times and perform a series of tests to determine if your PCs Real Time Clock, BIOS and operating system is Y2K compliant. When the process is complete, simply return to Windows and the program will automatically display the results of the test. When you have finished running the test, you may need to reset your system clock.
***Attention Multi-Boot users***
If you are running a boot manager program such as System Commander(R) you may experience problems when trying to run this software. Please contact the developers of that software for more information. The only boot manager known to be compatible with Y2K TEST / Y2K TEST & FIX is Microsoft Windows NT's boot loader.
REGARDING THE "FIX"
In order to "fix" any clock problems detected by the Y2K TEST utility, you must purchase the complete Y2K TEST & FIX product through SecureNet Technologies Inc. It can be purchased online through our website at http://www.securenet.org or send e-mail to sales@securenet.org.
If you already have purchased the full Y2K TEST & FIX program, you are supplied with two options for repairing clock disfunction. These are called Resident and Transient fixes and are explained in detail in the user manual.
IMPORTANT
Regardless of which FIX you choose to employ, it is important to realize that the FIX will no longer be viable if the hard drive is reformatted. In case of reformatting the hard drive, the FIX will have to be reinstalled. Therefore, you should archive the Y2K TEST & FIX program to floppy or other suitable storage associated with your computer.
SecureNet Technologies STRONGLY recommends that you prominently afix a tag or sticker of some sort to any machine that has had the fix applied. In this way, it will be easy to identify which PCs have the patch installed. If the Y2K FIX is ever removed for any reason or destroyed due to reformatting, for example, then the tag or sticker can be removed until the Y2K FIX is reinstalled.
