Thank you for using CrossFont. CrossFont is a Windows 95/98/NT utility for
moving PostScript Type1 and TrueType fonts between Macintosh and PC platforms.
Below is a summary of features:
- 32 bit program for Windows 95/98/NT.
- Long file names.
- Convert PostScript Type 1 fonts between PC and Mac.
- Convert TrueType between PC and Mac.
- Character outlines, metrics and hinting are not touched.
- Registered version can create font families with up to four styles.
- Drag and drop interface.
- Registered version can batch convert to many file types at once.
- Automatic sensing of file type.
- Automatic assignment of kerning from appropriate metric files.
Notes:
- Since CrossFont is a 32 bit program, it will not run on 16 bit Windows.
- For information about registering, see the help file.
- You can call up the help file from the "Help" menu or by pressing F1.
Version 1.1 changes:
- Added "Automatic" entry to encoding drop box. This automatically determines
if encoding should be changed.
- Fixed problem where PC to Mac Type 1 conversion creates 0 size file.
- Fixed problem where glossary button in help file did not work.
- Changed extension filters for adding files.
Version 1.2 changes:
- Fixed encoding and width problems in type 1 fonts converted from PC to Mac.
- Fixed problem in PFM where number of kerning pairs was sometimes wrong.
- Fixed problem writing files to a root directory.
- Fixed problem where kerning was not picked up for fonts with non-standard glyph names.
- Added fix to interpret Windows name table properly in TrueType fonts.
- Added option to remove non-standard encoding from Mac TrueType font when converting to PC.
