  3.       The RAR Archiver
  4.       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  5.       License for use and distribution
  6.       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  9.       The RAR archiver is shareware. This means:
  10.  
  11.    1. All copyrights to RAR are exclusively owned by the author
  12.       - Eugene Roshal.
  13.  
  14.    2. Anyone may use this software during a test period of 40
  15.       days. Following this test period of 40 days or less, if
  16.       you wish to continue to use RAR, you MUST register.
  17.  
  18.    3. There are 5 basic types of licenses issued for RAR, these are:
  19.  
  20.       a.  A single computer USAGE license.  The user purchases ONE license
  21.           to USE the RAR archiver on ONE computer.
  22.  
  23.       b.  A Multiple USAGE license.  The user purchases a number of USAGE 
  24.           licenses for use, by the purchaser, the purchaser's employees or 
  25.           acredited agents, on the same number of computers. 
  26.  
  27.       c.  A SITE USAGE license.  The user purchases a single USAGE license, 
  28.           authorising the USE of RAR, by the purchaser, the purchaser's 
  29.           employees or acredited agents, on an unlimited number of computers 
  30.           at the same physical SITE location.  This SITE location would 
  31.           normally be defined as a single building, but could be considered 
  32.           to be a number of buildings within the same, general, geographical 
  33.           location, such as an industrial estate or small town.

  35.       d.  A CORPORATE, NATIONAL or INTERNATIONAL USAGE license.  The user 
  36.           purchases a single USAGE license, authorising the USE of RAR, by 
  37.           the purchaser, the purchaser's employees or acredited agents, on 
  38.           an unlimited number of computers, regardless of location, but 
  39.           owned or under the control of the purchaser.

  41.       e.  A CORPORATE, RESALE license.  The user purchases a license for 
  42.           a limited and specified number of copies for the purpose of 
  43.           reselling individual licenses to a third party with RAR being
  44.           included as a part of another application or system.  This license 
  45.           does NOT allow the direct reselling of RAR as a stand-alone 
  46.           product.

  48.       Once registered, the user is granted a non-exclusive license to use 
  49.       RAR on as many computers as defined by the licensing terms above 
  50.       according to the number of licenses purchased, for any legal purpose.  
  51.       The registered RAR software may not be rented or leased, but may be 
  52.       permanently transferred, in it's entirety, if the person receiving it 
  53.       agrees to the terms of this license.  If the software is an update, 
  54.       the transfer must include the update and all previous versions.

  56.    4. The RAR unregistered shareware version, may be freely distributed,
  57.       provided the distribution package is not modified. No person or 
  58.       company may charge a fee for the distribution of RAR without 
  59.       written permission from the copyright holder.

  61.    5. To register you must complete the registration form and send
  62.       it, with registration fee, to one of the authorized
  63.       registration sites, see RAR_SITE.TXT.
  64.  
  65.    6. RAR ARCHIVER IS DISTRIBUTED "AS IS".  NO WARRANTY OF ANY
  66.       KIND IS EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  YOU USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
  67.       THE AUTHOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DATA LOSS, DAMAGES, LOSS
  68.       OF PROFITS OR ANY OTHER KIND OF LOSS WHILE USING OR MISUSING
  69.       THIS SOFTWARE.

  71.    7. There are NO additional license fees, apart from the cost of 
  72.       registration, associated with the creation and distribution of RAR 
  73.       archives, volumes, self-extracting archives or self-extracting 
  74.       volumes.  Legally registered owners may use their copies of RAR to 
  75.       produce archives and self-extracting archives and to distribute 
  76.       those archives free of any additional RAR royalties.

  78.    8. You may not use, copy, emulate, clone, rent, lease, sell, modify,
  79.       decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the
  80.       licensed program, or any subset of the licensed program, except as 
  81.       provided for in this agreement.  Any such unauthorized use shall 
  82.       result in immediate and automatic termination of this license and
  83.       may result in criminal and/or civil prosecution.
  84.  
  85.       Neither RAR binary code, WinRAR binary code, UnRAR source or UnRAR 
  86.       binary code may be used or reverse engineered to re-create the RAR
  87.       compression algorithm, which is proprietary, without written 
  88.       permission of the author.

  90.       All rights not expressly granted here are reserved by Eugene Roshal.
  91.  
  92.    9. Installing and using RAR signifies acceptance of these terms
  93.       and conditions of the license.
  94.  
  95.   10. If you do not agree with the terms of this license you must remove
  96.       RAR files from your storage devices and cease to use the product.
