  2. AMIA is a special interface that allows 800K Macintosh compatible floppy
  3. drives to be used with any Amiga computer.
  4.  
  5. Please note that this product plugs into your Amiga's disk drive port,
  6. or into the back (passthru) of the last external disk drive connected
  7. to your Amiga.  DO NOT plug AMIA into any other port!
  8.  
  9. AMIA has a standard 19 pin connector found on 800K Macintosh compatible
  10. drives.  Please note the following diagram for proper installation:

  34. AMIA Software
  35. -------------

  37. Use the installer program included on this disk to install the latest
  38. version of EMPLANT's Macintosh emulation (v5.0).  The installer will
  39. create a file called 'amia.device'.  This is the device driver
  40. that runs the AMIA hardware.  Without it, AMIA will not function.
  41.  
  42. AMIA can be used with the 'Converter' program to convert 800K Macintosh
  43. floppys to EMPLANT or AMAX formats.
  44.  
  45. AMIA can also be used with EMPLANT's Macintosh emulation module to read
  46. and write low density disk format.  Due to the AMIA's duplication of
  47. all Macintosh drive functionality, it is possible to load most copy
  48. protected software when using the emulation.

  50. AMIA can be used with AMAX II in place of the original cartridge, if
  51. you have a version that bypasses the original AMAX II cartridge.
  52. NOTE: By law, you must own the AMAX II system in order to use this feature.

  54. AMIA can be used to read and write individual sectors using any sector
  55. editor.  A sample DOSDriver is included with this disk.  Just double
  56. click on the driver to mount the drive.  NOTE: YOU CAN NOT HAVE THE
  57. DEVICE MOUNTED AND ATTEMPT TO USE AMIA WITH EMPLANT'S MACINTOSH
  58. EMULATION....only one task can be using the AMIA hardware at a time.
  59. Likewise, attempting to mount the device while the emulation is running
  60. will result in a failure.
