CLIMBING UP MANUAL
Alternative realities Production
Huckstepp Software 1996
Story
Climbing Up follows directly on from its predecessor, Falling Down.
After over-throwing the evil witch the furries began to rebuild
their shattered community, many months passed and there was no signs
of the work being finished. One and a half years later they finally
saw the light at the end of the tunnel and began to grow in
confidence, sadly this was not destined to last.
In the month of February (Earth Standard) an dark wizard approached
the camp, he eyes were as red as blood and his hear as dark as
night, he wore a deep red cloak which beared the markings of the
pentagram, it was quite clear that he was bad news, sadly due to the
furries kind nature they allowed him access to their camp and one by
one unknown by the community the furries began to disappear until
there were but a handful left.
The furries realized what had happened and for the first time
noticed a large castle in the distance, this must be where he had
taken them.
The remaining furries had to rescue their friends and so they went
to their leader and told him of their plans and he furnished them
with a crude map and told them that the path was full of deadly
traps, however, the furries were still determined to retrieve their
friends, and so they packed some lunch and began their journey to
the wizards castle.

down so that you can see whats happening.

configured: ECS - Speed 1 , AGA - Speed 3
DIFFICULTY LEVEL Allows the game to be adjusted to your
playing level although I strongly suggest
leaving it on at least NORMAL
*** One Player Game ****
The idea of the one player game is to either kill all the green
furries or to trap the furries so that once the game area is full
there are more red furries than there are green
Once a one player game is started the map screen shows the
progression of your game, in total their are 4 areas of play: The
Bridge (across a lake), The Forest, The River and The Castle
Before play commences on each level you are given a code, this can
be used to return to that level later if necessary
Once the play field is on screen a red armed cursor is shown, this
can be moved by the mouse.
Player one controls red, at each go the player has two options, to
morph or to transport.
Morphing means to create a new furry on a square adjacent to an
existing furry of the same colour ie RED
Transporting means to move an existing furry from one square to
another, this option is limited by a set number of times determined
by the skill level the game is playing on. The mouse cursor will
reflect this once only 5 or less transporters are available.
To Use a furry:
Move the mouse pointer over the required furry and click the
left mouse button, the furry will then acknowledge the selection and
you can now chose to morph or transport this furry, if you wish to
use a different furry then click the right mouse button.
By moving the mouse pointer to an adjacent square the mouse
pointer will change to the morph icon, if you click in a square with
this icon showing a new furry will be generated in that square, if
you move the mouse to a square that is 2 squares away the mouse
pointer will change to the transport icon and clicking the mouse
button will move your chosen furry to its new location.
If at anytime your furries are completely stranded then you must
commit suicide by pressing the ESC key, the level will then be
restarted.
*** Multi Player Game ****
If more than one player is set one the main menu screen then the
game is turned into a competion and each player is against each
other, the game is played exactly the same as one player except that
the game is played on randomly generately, the idea is that each
player must fight against each other until a certain number of
matches are achieved ie 1,3,5 or 9 (as set on the main menu)
*** In Game Controls ***
