To compile gptx 0.3, first get the source of the prerelease by writing
to Francois Pinard <pinard@iro.umontreal.ca>, then execute the
following commands:
patch < patches
make
Please report all MS-DOS specific bugs to:
Thorsten Ohl <td12@ddagsi3.bitnet>
and all generic bugs to:
Francois Pinard <pinard@iro.umontreal.ca>.
Here follows the README file from the prerelease.

This is a prerelease of GNU ptx. With GNU make, GNU awk and GNU C
compiler, installation should be straightforward. Edit the Makefile
according to instructions provided in it, then `make' the thing. This
will produces gptx and ptx, which are two names for the same file. If
everything goes fine, and if you wish, do `make install' using the
proper account.
There is some documentation in `gptx.texinfo', but there is no man
page. Calling the program with an illegal option, such as -h,
provides an option summary. English not being my native language, the
documentation style is certainly quite crude. Do not hesitate to
comment about it, or even better, to ship back to me those parts you
rewrote.
The code has been successfully installed on Apollo, Sparc, Sun-3, and
ix386 machines. I would like to improve the portability of GNU ptx,
as long as the code stays reasonnably readable. The best thing would
be that *you* provide me with some feedback about it.
Please report any buggestions to me, Francois Pinard. On INTERNET, use
<pinard@iro.umontreal.ca>; with old UUCP, use <...uunet!iros1!pinard>.
