PRODUCT OVERVIEW OF JOURNAL-PRO
Journal-Pro is a program that enables you to keep a computerized
diary or journal. Each journal entry consists of a date, title,
subject threads, and the narrative text itself. After inputting your
entries, you may search your journal by date range, subject, or a
combination of both. You may also print the entries one by one or
many at a time. The print-out is formatted so that after printing,
holes may be punched in the output to be included in a three ring
binder. There is an extensive help system so that anytime, you may
press the [F1] key to receive a context-sensitive help screen.
INSTALLATION AND START-UP
In order to install Journal-Pro, all you need to do is to extract
all the files into one directory, and type JP. The first time that
you run the program, it will create the index files that it needs to
find information quickly; therefore, you will be taken directly to the
PACK and REINDEX screen. Answer [Y] to the reindex question and the
program will proceed to create the appropriate indexes. You will then
be taken to the MAIN MENU where you may begin using the program. At
any point, you may press [F1] to get context-sensitive help. You
should then select the "Maintenance" option from the MAIN MENU and
fill in the defaults. Journal-Pro is very straight-forward. The best
way to master the program is simply to use it, and make use of the
help screens.
If you are using a monochrome monitor connected to a color display
card, the program will assume that you are using a color system, and
display the screens with the color attributes. If this is the case for
your system, you may set the DOS environment variable SET MONO=YES .
This will force the program to operate in mono mode.
