  5. CANNOT RUN CBT IN EXCEL 5.0 FOR WINDOWS TUTORIAL

  12. SYMPTOMS:
  13.  
  14. In the tutorial for Excel 5.0, "CBT could not be executed" error
  15. occurs.

  18. RESOLUTION:
  19.         1.  Edit SETUP.STF and change line 115 so that it reads:
  20.  
  21.             115    Yes    Depend   114 ? 117 1266 : 117 1266
  22.             us     Yes    D:\EXCEL\
  23.  
  24.         2.  Start a WIN-OS/2 fullscreen session and run the EXCEL
  25.             SETUP and chose REINSTALL. When installation is
  26.             completed, EXCELL CBT is ready to run.
  27.         3.  Edit the CBTDIRECTORY= line in the
  28.             EXCEL5.INI file in the WINOS2 or Windows directory so
  29.             that it references where the CBT files are stored,
  30.             for example X:\EXCEL\EXCELCBT.
  31.  
  32. PROCEDURES:
  33.  
  34.         1.  From command prompts folder open an OS2 Window
  35.             session.
  36.  
  37.         2.  Change to the \EXCEL\SETUP directory on a local
  38.             installation or to the \EXCEL on a network.  Type:
  39.  
  40.              CD EXCEL\SETUP or CD EXCEL  and press Enter.
  41.  
  42.         3.  Edit the SETUP.STF.  Type:
  43.  
  44.               SETUP.STF and press Enter.
  45.  
  46.         4.  Change line 115 so that it reads:

  48.               115   Yes   Depend   114 ? 117 1266 : 117 1266
  49.               us    Yes   D:\EXCEL\
  50.  
  51.         5.  Save changes to the SETUP.STF file.
  52.  
  53.         6.  Start WIN-OS/2 full screen session and run EXCEL
  54.             SETUP from the icon. Select the REINSTALL selection.
  55.             When installation is completed, EXCEL CBT is ready to
  56.             run.
  57.  
  58.         7.  In the same OS/2 Window session, change to the WINOS2
  59.             or Windows directory.  Type:
  60.  
  61.               CD OS2\MDOS\WINOS2 or CD WINDOWS
  62.               and press Enter.
  63.  
  64.         8.  Edit the EXCEL5.INI file.  Type:
  65.  
  66.                E EXCEL5.INI and press Enter.
  67.  
  68.         9.  Verify line CBTDIRECTORY= points to X:\EXCEL\EXCELCBT
  69.             where X: is the drive where EXCEL resides.

  71.             For example,  CBTDIRECTORY=C:\EXCEL\EXCELCBT

  73.        10.  Save changes to the EXCEL5.INI file and close the
  74.             editor.

  76.        11. Restart Excel 5.0 for Windows and run the tutorial.
