- NOTE: C: denotes the drive where OS/2 is installed
-
- 1. Start the system and go to the OS/2 desktop. Open an OS/2
- window or full screen and type:
- C:\OS2\INSTALL
-
- 2. A: If you applied service pack using diskettes, at
- C:\OS2\INSTALL:
-
- 1. Type:
-
- RSPDSPI /PK:VGA /SK:NONE /S:A:\ /S:C:
-
- 2. Insert display diskette 1 from service pack in drive a:
-
- 3. Press Enter and follow the directions on the screen.
-
- B: If you applied service pack using CD-ROM, at
- C:\OS2\INSTALL:
-
- 1. Type:
-
- RSPDSPI /PK:VGA /SK:NONE /S:\Y:\SPZ629\ /T:C:
-
- Y: is the CD-ROM drive letter.
- C: is the drive where OS/2 resides
-
- 3. Go to the OS/2 sub-directory, and if SVGADATA.PMI and
- SVGADATA.ERR files exist, delete them.
-
- 4. Perform shutdown and restart the system.
-
- 5. Open an OS/2 session and create a temporary directory on
- the hard disk. Type:
-
- MD TEMP and press Enter.
-
- 6. Insert the system diskette 1 from OS/2 for Windows GA, not
- service pack, and type:
-
- C:UNPACK A:BUNDLE C:\TEMP
-
- NOTE: If you have 5 1/4 diskettes, use system diskette 2.
-
- 7. Type:
-
- CD TEMP and press Enter.
-
- 8. Type:
-
- COPY PSxxx.DSC C:\OS2\INSTALL\*.* and press Enter.
-
- NOTE: xxx is the name of video chipset.
-

- Doing A Selective Install for SVGAa Using OS/2 for Windows GA.
- ----------------------------------------------------------------
- 1. Open an OS/2 system icon, open system setup icon, open
- selective install icon.
- 2. Select Primary Display and select the OK push button.
- 3. Select Super VGA Array (SVGA) and select OK.
- 4. Select OK for next screen.
- 5. Select Install on the next screen.
- 6. Select Source Directory.
- A. If you are using diskettes, select Install and
- follow the instructions on the screen.
- B. If you using CD-ROM, select Change, then select
- OS2SE21 sub-directory, and then select the Install
- push button.
- NOTE: Respond Yes to all questions.

- 7. Perform a shutdown and restart your system. You should be in
- in selected hi-res.
- 8. Apply service pack again. This only updates some video
- related files.
