  11. Setup your communications software to dial 919-517-0001.
  12. When you are connected, the system asks for your name and
  13. password. If you do not have a password the system asks you
  14. to select one.
  15.  
  16. Select (L)ist for a list of directories.
  17. From the list, select one.  The list of OS/2 files include:
  18.  
  19. 10:OS/2 Utilities                  11:OS/2 Programming
  20. 12:OS/2 Graphics & Music           13:OS/2 Entertainment
  21. 14:OS/2 Communications Files       15:OS/2 Text Files
  22. 16:OS/2 Applications               17:OS/2 Device Drivers
  23. 18:OS/2 Bulletin Board             36:ValuePoint Files

  25. Select the one you want.
  26.  
  27. Look through the file list in the selection and select (M)ark
  28. to mark the letter of the file you want.  If you want
  29. additional files, (C)ontinue and (M)ark the ones you want.
  30. When finished, select (N)o and then Return.

  32. From the main menu select (D)ownload then (M)arked files
  33. and then the letters of the marked files.  Select the download
  34. protocol you wish to use.  Select Autologoff or not.
  35.  
  36. When you see "Ready To Send Files" message, set your software for
  37. the proper protocol (XMODEM should be acceptable).  If files have
  38. an extension of .ZIP you need to unzip the files using a version
  39. of PKUNZIP.  The latest version is PKZ204G.EXE.  After
  40. downloading the file, type:
  41.                   PKZ204          and press Enter
  42. It "unzips" the ZIP file and the files are ready to use.  See
  43. the README.DOC for further instructions.  README files can be
  44. viewed from an OS/2 window, Type:
  45.                  EPM README.DOC    and press Enter

  48.    HOW TO LOG ON AND DOWNLOAD FROM THE IBM BBS (919-517-0001)

  51. PROCEDURES:
  52.  
  53.  1.  Select the OS/2 System icon.
  54.  2.  Select the Productivity icon
  55.  3.  Select the PM Terminal icon.
  56.  4.  Select IBM PUBLIC BBS.
  57.  5.  Change phone number from 404-835-6600 to 919-517-0001,
  58.      and select SAVE.
  59.  6.  Choose dial to call the BBS.  When you connect to BBS, you
  60.      are asked for the following information.
  61.  7.  Name(F)   JOHN
  62.  8.  Name(L)   SMITH
  63.  9.  Answer Yes (Y) to register
  64. 10.  Yes (Y) for ANSI graphics if your system can handle it
  65. 11.  Select a password:   SUNNY
  66. 12.  Re-enter password:   SUNNY
  67. 13.  City, state:         BOCA RATON, FL
  68. 14.  Model # if you are using a PS/2 System: type the model and
  69.      press Enter OR press Enter if you are not using a PS/2.
  70. 15.  Phone #:             541-254-1463

  72.      You are prompted for the following information:

  75. 17.  Street Address:            1 SOUTH STREET
  76. 18.  City, state, zip:          BOCA RATON, FL, 33418

  78. 20.  Do you make or influence PC buying for your company   YES/NO
  79. 21.  Will this support influence your next computer Purchase  Y/N
  80.      A Welcome Screen appears.  Press Enter to read the news.
  81.      Choose No if you do not want to read the news.   The Welcome
  82.      Screen/Main Menu appears.
  83. 22.  Type S to search for a file and then press Enter.
  84.      EXAMPLE:   21WPSF.*  - the BBS is searched
  85. 23.  When it finds the file type M to mark the file
  86.      (ie. A,B,C,D)  (A) 21WPSF.ZIP 152100 10-27-93
  87.                         OS/2 2.1 SHUTDOWN FIX
  88. 24.  Q for quit
  89. 25.  You are the Main Screen.  Type D to download file.
  90. 26.  M for marked files
  91. 27.  All of the files you marked to download are displayed.
  92.      For example, one file was marked, so it will be displayed
  93.      as: (A) 21WPSF.ZIP.  Choose A to download this file.
  94. 28.  You are asked for a protocol.  Choose X modem.
  95. 29.  Choose auto logoff to disconnect after the transfer.

  99. 1.  At the Main Menu type D for download
  100. 2.  The file name
