  12. SYMPTOM:
  13.   Receiving a SYS1059 Error Message.
  14.  
  15. RESOLUTION:
  16.   The system cannot run the specified program.  You must
  17.   apply a fix to the Pen installation program.
  18.  
  19.  
  20. PROCEDURE:
  21.   1.  Install the PATCH utilities:
  22.  
  23.       A.  Select OS/2 System.
  24.  
  25.       B.  Select System Setup.
  26.  
  27.       C.  Select Selective Install.
  28.  
  29.       D.  Select OK on the System Configuration window.
  30.  
  31.       E.  Select Serviceability and Diagnostics Aids.
  32.  
  33.       F.  Select Install from the OS/2 Setup and
  34.           Installation window and follow the instructions
  35.           on the screen.

  38.   2. There are two methods for applying the fix for the Pen for
  39.      OS/2 installation program.  Select the method for your
  40.      situation.
  41.  
  42.       Method 1:  Reinstalling Pen for OS/2:
  43.  
  44.         1.  Copy the PEN.DAT file that is located in the
  45.             \DISK10 directory where Pen for OS/2 installed.
  46.  
  47.         2.  Change to the drive and directory where Pen for OS/2
  48.             installed.  At an OS/2 command prompt, type:
  49.  
  50.                       PATCH PEN.DAT /A   and press Enter.
  51.  
  52.         3.  Install Pen for OS/2.

  55.       Method 2:  Installing Pen for OS/2 for the first time:
  56.  
  57.         1.  Copy the PEN.DAT file that is located in the
  58.             \DISK10 directory on the OS/2 CD-ROM, to the
  59.             Pen for OS/2 Diskette 1.
  60.  
  61.         2.  Insert the Pen for OS/2 Diskette 1 into drive A.
  62.  
  63.         3.  From an OS/2 command prompt, go to drive A,
  64.             and type:
  65.  
  66.                       PATCH PEN.DAT /A   and press Enter.
  67.  
  68.  
  69.         NOTE:  A message appears confirming that the fix
  70.                is applied.

  72.         4.  Install Pen for OS/2.
