  10. Reset the system to vga using the procedures below.
  11.  
  12. DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:
  13.  
  14. I.  XR06200
  15.      A.  DSPINSTL-Assume desktop is functional
  16.           1.  Open an OS2 (window or fullscreen) session.
  17.           2.  Type "DSPINSTL" at the prompt and select to install
  18.        vga.  See your install guide (page 114) for details on this
  19.        procedure. 3.  Shutdown and reboot when prompted to do so.
  20.  
  21.      B.  RSPDSPI-Assume desktop is functional
  22.           1.  Open an OS2 session.
  23.           2.  Change to the x:\os2\install directory.  The x would
  24.        be the driver letter assigned to the drive where OS2 is 
  25.        installed.
  26.           3.  Type in the following command: 
  27. RSPDSPI /PK:VGA /SK:NONE /S:A:\ /T:X:
  28.        where "X" is the drive where OS2 is installed.
  29.           4.  When prompted insert the xr06200 display driver 
  30.        diskettes.
  31.           5.  When RSPDSPI is finished reboot the system.
  32.  
  33.      C.  RSPDSPI-Assume desktop is not functional
  34.           1.  Boot from the OS/2 2.1 ga base diskettes (install 
  35.        diskette and diskette one).
  36.           2.  When prompted escape out to command prompt at the 
  37.        welcome screen.
  38.           3.  Now follow steps 2 through 5 of B.

  40. NOTE:  IF YOU HAVE A CD-ROM THE RSPDSPI COMMAND IS:

  42. RSPDSPI /PK:VGA /SK:NONE /S:Z:\SP6I617\ /T:X:
  43.      Z=YOUR CD-ROM DRIVE LETTER
  44.      X=YOUR OS2 DRIVE LETTER
  45.  
  46.        D.  IF OTHER VENDOR'S DRIVERS ARE IN USE
  47.           1.  Download the file called 211DDU.ZIP from the IBM 
  48.        BBS.  The # to dial is (919)517-0001.
  49.           2.  Follow the README for instructions on running this 
  50.        utility.  This utility was designed to recognize other 
  51.        manufacturers drivers and reset OS2 to vga.

  56.      A.  RSPDSPI-Assume desktop is functional
  57.           1.  Follow steps under I. B.
  58.           2.  When prompted insert the display driver diskettes 
  59.        from xr06300.

  62.           1.  Follow steps under I. C.
  63.           2.  When prompted insert the display driver diskettes 
  64.        from xr06300.

  66. NOTE:  IF YOU HAVE THE CD-ROM VERSION USE THE SAME COMMAND STATED 
  67.        ABOVE FOR CD-ROM; HOWEVER, CHANGE SP6I617 TO SPZ629.

  69. WARNING:  IF YOU ARE USING OEM DRIVERS OR THINKPAD 750C DRIVERS,
  70.        THEY MUST BE REMOVED PRIOR TO RUNNING THESE PROCEDURES. 
  71.        THE IBM OS2 SUPPORT CENTER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVING 
  72.        THESE DRIVERS.  FOR 750C DRIVERS, THINKPAD SUPPORT(1-800-772-2227)
  73.        MUST BE CONTACTED AND FOR THE OEM DRIVERS, THE VENDOR MUST
  74.        BE CONTACTED FOR SUPPORT ON THE REMOVAL OF THE OEM DRIVERS.
