  5.         Value Point systems running the S3 drivers flickers and has a
  6.         black border around the desktop.

  8.         DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:

  10.         After installing SVGA support on Value Point systems monitor
  11.         flickers and resolutions greater than 640x480x256 colors
  12.         have a 1/2 inch black border around the
  13.         desktop.

  16.         SUMMARY OF RESOLUTIONS:
  17.  
  18.         Run REFRESH.EXE and set up the system to run in the highest
  19.         re-fresh rate that the monitor can handle.
  20.  
  21.         The REFRESH program is located on the DOS CAD disk  shipped with
  22.         Value Point systems.
  23.  
  24.         DETAILS OF RESOLUTIONS:
  25.  
  26.         1. Run DSPINSTL and set system up for SVGA mode , DO NOT RE-BOOT
  27.  
  28.         2. Open a DOS full screen session
  29.  
  30.         3.  Obtain the DOS CAD diskette that was shipped with the Value
  31.             Point System
  32.  
  33.         4.   Switch  to the A: drive
  34.  
  35.              c:> A: <enter>
  36.  
  37.         5.   CD to the sub-directory named UTIL
  38.  
  39.              a:> CD UTIL <enter>
  40.  
  41.         6.   Run REFRESH.EXE
  42.  
  43.              a:\util:>REFRESH <enter>

  45.         7.   Select the highest re-fresh rates that the monitor is
  46.              capable of (WARNING)

  48.         8.   Save changes and exit the utility
  49.  
  50.         9.   St the c:> run SVGA ON
  51.  
  52.         10.  Shut down and re-boot system
